Here is a good place to start: http://www.wow-loot.com/v1-paladin.htm

As for add-ons or macros... I ended up remapping all functions to my keyboard in a logical way so that I can perform in the battgrounds much faster. Much faster than using the mouse.

There are too few synergies between the Retro tree and Prot tree to make a viable build out of it, much less at 39. In BG's you'll either want to DPS or Heal so the Prot tree won't be helping you that much.

I thought you were gonna be both at once, or do you plan to respec every few BG's? O_o Or will you just change setup depending on the class you're facing?

In the latter case, I'd say it's too much planning for nothing. If you're gonna be a twink, you're supposed to melt faces and kick asses so you shouldn't have to trouble yourself too much. The only reason you'd want a shield is against Rogues and maybe Warriors. But then again you're wearing plate so it's no biggie.

For the stats, a good mix of the standard melee stats (Why does everyone always ask this anyway?) which are Str, Agi and Stam. Stam is primordial in PvP. Strength and Agi should be in roughly equal proportion. You'll want a good crit rate, but not at the expense of too much AP.

For the enchants, well, enchants that support those same stats mentioned above.

And for the macros and addons, I'm not a huge fan of them so I couldn't tell.

About SoR, its power scales with the speed of your weapon. On a two-hander, it will do more base damage than on a one-hander. But it will also do more damage on a slow one-hander than a fast one-hander. Check WoWWiki for more details about the formula.

Yah, no plate, my bad about that. D:
Still, wearing chainmail against most other physical classes suffices. Point was that you're not a clothie and so if you used a shield in PvP it would be to get better protection from them.

Weapon enchant? Umm, Crusader if you can afford it... otherwise maybe some +35 Agi, again if you can afford it. Savagery is also nice with +70 AP. Moongoose could be nice, it's kinda like Crusader but Agi/Crit-oriented.

(BTW, the name's Selverein. "Scholar" is only the title, hence the blue name)
