hi, currently i am leveling a 41 rogue on Dragonmaw server and i find many problems with leveling, i know its not that high but when i try find a group for uldamann no one wants to run it+grinding takes very long and its boring. The weapons i have at the moment are cold ridge dagger from Razorfen Downs lvl 39, and scouts blade form wsg rewards lvl 38, they are both daggers. I do not know if they are decent weps atm, i cant find any better in the ah.

I am currently assassination build=

and i am concerned why i hit very low, with backstab i hit for 186 normally? i don't know if thats good or bad. help would be good thx!

You've have several potential problems. First of all, you are missing Opportunity in the Subtlety tree, when 5/5 points are put into this, damage is increased to your Backstab, Ambush, Mutilate and Garrote abilities by 20%. Thats a huge number.

Your second possible problem, could be your dagger placement. You should have the WSG dagger in your MH(left side), and the Coldrage Dagger OH(right side). The reasoning behind this is that you want the fastest dagger in your offhand for poison procs, and the one with the highest top-end damage in your Mainhand, so you have higher crits on your Ambushes and Backstabs.

It might help to throw in a link to your armory page so we could take a look at your gear as well, because to be honest w/ you, your damage is crap right now. I'm 49 and my backstabs crits range from 300 on prot pallies to 1k+ on clothies.

heya m8, finally someone from Dmaw, are u horde or alliance? :)

my advice is, use COMBAT spec or at least HEMO i strongly warn you leveling with daggers :P

I was 41 yesterday too, but I've done few quests in STV, Tanaris, did one run in RFD and I've dinged, try to do that too :P

IMO you can level with daggers just fine. Your build right know just need a little twinking instead of going with seal fate & vigor so early put points in opportunity 5/5 that way you get the most out of bs that talent point will allow. Then can go on with the rest of your assassination build. Because you went total assassination so early on your build look more like a combat build then a dagger build, but if are new to rogues it is to do that because unlike other class which can max out tree while leveling it harder do that with a rogue, because need something from other tree to make build best they can be.

Grinding at that level can be tough, especialy with a sub build. I recomend quest grinding. I started using Jame's guide for the alliance at level 45 and let me tell ya, my guildies were stunned at the rate i was gaining levels. Wish I had learned of the quest guid at lvl 30 (minimum level to start using the guide) -.o

I was about to ask the same question when I saw this thread. I guess I made the same mistake of not putting 5 in opprotunity. *hangs Head in shame*

I am currently using this build:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?3053031055101025010000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
with gut ripper in main hand and mug o' hurt in off hand.

will respeccing really cause that much of an effect?

I am a chronic grinder and of course I want to see the highest numbers as possible. I've respecced so much now that I just paid 30g to get the spec I have right now. but I don't mind spending it again if there is a build that will get me what I'm looking for.

Thanks
