2 Questions: 1 about mutilate and 1 about shadowstep...Follow

#1 Apr 23 2007 at 5:48 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, I really don't want to bust the gold from a respec, but if you're classic seal fate build, would Mutilate add another combo point, for a total of 3 if it crits?

And would someone explain shadowstep, do you use it in stealth and it just puts you behind the monster, or what?

@ Shadowstep

It basically means, that when you use it, you get teleported in front of him. Then, being a Sub ninja, I usually start off with a sprint so I can get behind him. After that I usually pickpocket so I get free epix. You can pull off a cheap shot too, but if you miss, you get teleported to Orgrimmar. (This sucks because I'm ally :< )

Ignore the above idiot.

Think of shadowstep as a rogue's version of blink. You target a mod from stealth mode, "blink" to right behind them, and get a 20% damage bonus to your ambush opener.

If you open with cheap shot, you probably won't care for SS all that much. I'm using it right now because I think it's fun. But overall it's not exceptionally better than past builds I've used.

Shadowstep does port you infront of the enemy quite a bit too, even if they are distracted.

And if you are mutilate specced with Seal Fate and mutilate crits (either hand) you will get 3cp, and yes it is beautiful.

You cant shadowstep if their facing a wall or somethings in the way behind them.

Though sometimes a rare error happens and your now stuck in that something or wall.

What happens if someone's back is facing a cliff and you shadow step? do you fall to your doom?

For that matter ifas a mage, your facing a cliff and use blink will you tele the whole way and fall to your death [o wait....feather fall >_<] or tele to the edge?

What's nice, though, is you can do it from the air. Jump off a cliff, shadowstep ambush before you hit the ground. As far as fall damage goes, I find it's hit and miss. Sometimes I'll get a big crit in, and die.. or I'll just be standing there dusting my hands off on his corpse.

Fun times, AB.

Shadowstep also ignores elevation (at least to an extent).

For instance, you can shadowstep from the ground up into a tower behind an archer in AV. You can also shadowstep over crevices that you normally wouldn't be able to walk out of.

It's not foolproof, but a day or two of playing with it and you'll learn it's limitations.

Shadowstep also gets you "kicked" off of Zeps.

why would you use shadow step on a zeppelin?

though i was on a ship once nad jumped, i flew right back off the ship like some sorta wind blew me off [i was in the same spot but hte ship was still moving]

so much for einsteins theory. throwing a ball in a train on WoW means it flies right to the back.
