Progress after reaching 70Follow

After reaching 70 I went right away to Shattered Halls, and realized that you can't do that place in mostly greens + some blues. Even specced to full prot and still our groups couldn't get the last boss.

So I specced back to fury and currently I'm doing quests to get all blue prot gear.

But I don't have a clue how to progress after Shattered Halls. Are Hellfire Citadel heroics possible on full blue? Or should I get some better gear somewhere before even trying heroics? What is the order in which I should run different instances?

I haven't done any rep grinding yet for Aldor/Scryer or other groups. Since getting those reps on full prot spec will propably suck, I'm wondering at how far in instances you can get without being full prot. Ofcourse if you have full epic you can propably run lots of instances without being full prot, but consider having just blue gear.

So currently my plan is to get full blue prot gear, then go hybrid ( 13/??/?? )and run Shattered Halls (rep grinding/questing while waiting for groups) until I get that heroic key.

And then what?

Not sure why you are obsessed with shattered halls? There are plenty of 70 instances worth doing like shadow labs, arcatraz, steamvaults etc. All will get you rep with an associated faction.

If you have a good group and decent gear (good greens would probably do) then you can probably do them - even shattered halls. I dont recall shattered halls being particularly hard. Its definetly easier then arcitraz and shadow labs. If you are struggling then maybe you havent got the right class balance. I wouldnt go in there without at least 2 Crowd Control classes. The bosses are easy enough. No strategy required.

I wouldnt attempt heroics until you have 70 blues or better and plenty of stamina.

Agreed with Sjwine.

Shattered Halls is not a fun instance for a tank, but if you can get all the way to the last boss, it is the group failing and not you if you can't down Bladefist.

Prot does not always mean win in instances, your group has a lot to do with success.

As for your rep, Honor Hold is kind of a pain as SH doesn't give you a whole lot of rep suprisingly. For Heroic Keys, I would honestly focus on getting keyed for Tempest Keep Heroics. There is lots of good tanking gear that will drop for you when grinding those instances to get Revered and once you hit Revered, Heroic Mechanar = Win. It is the easiest Heroic imo, you get 5 badges from it and an excellent tanking sword drops from the last boss on Heroic mode.

Don't Stress about gear too much, as all of the 5 mans can be tanked in Normal Mode with Greens/Blues from leveling.

Again, I'd say it is probably far more to do with your group then your equipment/spec for the difficulties with Bladefist.

Heh. Shattered halls.

PITA. The 7 pull at the end of one of the halls is the biggest hurdle, but after that it's cake, tank and spank. Esp. if you have a rogue, to bypass a certain door (with imp sap, or post patch 2.1.x).

Shadow labs just has some funky mechanics for the bosses, but otherwise is not too difficult with just one CC, like sheep. "Happy fun time" is horrible if your group is unbalanced, with say a heavily epic'd sword rogue and 2 under-geared mages.

The Arcatraz first boss, for our guild, is one of the stupidest hard bosses (with out some decent shadow resist and constant maneuvering). So we skip him alot. But the rest of the instance is mostly tank and spank, single target easy agro management.

Steam Vaults with the proper CC is the easiest, imo. The bosses strats are straight forward, and most of the pulls are easily manageable. A lock or two make that instance a cakewalk.

after running a few heroics...the normal instances seems cake....me and my friends even say to do a "quick" SL or SV run before or after a heroic..
