Who refuses to give up their pet for a boar?Follow

I have a lv 69 hunter (soon to be 70 by tommarow) and i use a ZG bat still. Like with the bird, it has screech/dive/growl. It may have lost his 1.0 attck speed, BUT he still hold great aggro and crits for 300 dmg. (and im MM). that and the GftT helps too since i crit alot. Basiclly he can "charge" so to speak, since the charge increases speed by 80% and the growl makes the aggro even better. Also, what should i use as my last pet move?

The new abilities are passive.

Sorry, but I created the so-called "Boar Crusade," yet I go out of my way to point out that the best pet is "the best pet for you."

I've tried to make it painfully clear that the Boar Crusade is for people who don't appreciate subtleties and who need to be told what the "best pet" is, to get them off our cases (and the boar is an excellent pet - hardly "overrated" - and we are helping such people by saying "Boar! Now go to Petopia!" ---- even saying "go to Petopia (brashendeavors.net)" is in part saying "make up your own mind w/ the best info possible" - giving said people yet another chance to see the light and make their own informed, rational choice!

It's a Zen thing.

Please, be careful what you accuse us of!

That was the whole point of the boar crusade, it's hard to understand. The motto is:
A boar is the best pet, there is no best pet, but the boar is the best pet. It's a zen thing.
We WANT you to pick out your own pet and to realize it's your choice, but we're saying boar to those who don't care about their opinions and want just the best pet. [not saying the boar is though, of course].

Iponema started the "Way Wayp Wiy Saah!" Crusade now, it's an osmosis thing. Print out this page and place it under your pillow. At night, when you're asleep the osmosis fairy will come and you'll find what you're seeking in a dream.

and i use AotM (and i have high agi, so great dodge) and concussive to tame her.
took me 3 tries before i got her. right as my lock buddy ran in to seduce =P

edit: take a disposable pet, there are a lot of other birds flying around her.
(i just caught one of those to wipe em all =P)

I was thinking about giving up by worg, and going to level up one of the boars from rfk. I haven't really touched my worg so I won't lose anything, but is the boar worth lvling to 70?

I don't see the fascination with boars, but I'm a form-over-function guy when it comes to pets. My Orc Hunter is using the spider Naraxis from Duskwood, and the only thing that gives me over any other pet is the fact that it's slightly more unpleasant for my foes to fight. Creepy noises ftw.

I've set myself a restriction on my Draenei Hunter - blue pets only. I currently have a scorpid from the barrens, but the blue spider in Searing Gorge will probably be my main pet as soon as I can get it.

I went through the trouble of getting an owl from NE starting areas for my BE hunter, and don't plan on getting another pet.

In my opinion, no pet is worth leveling up unless you really want that pet. I leveled up a black widow spider 30 levels because I really like its looks. So if you really want one of the armored boars, which I do feel are the best looking boars in game, then yes its worth leveling up.



I feel the same. That’s why I have a pink tallstrider and an albino crocalisk as main pets on two of my hunters. I do find it amusing that boars are now so popular. I tamed my first boar long before Blizzard ever started adding extra pet skills. I tamed him because I thought he was cute and back then almost nobody used boars as pets.

The Boar Crusade was started more for "form follows function" people -- or people asking for "the best pet" but, in our humble estimations, not yet ready for the full information dump.

"Get a boar, go to petopia!" is solid advice -- no one will go wrong with a boar in terms of stats or utility. It's one of the most useful pets out there, if not the most useful -- especially at levels under 32.

You are stooping to sophistry when you call our interest in boars a "fascination," btw. By changing our real and rationally justifiable interest in this e-animal into something implying "fannish worship," you're attacking us.

We are not "fascinated" by boars. We find them to be extremely useful pets. Some of us find them "cute" on top of that. The boar crusade is not fannish; it is empirical.
