I did exactly what I hate when fantasy authors do it: just picked a name that seemed to fit the race and class based on sound alone. I love the Silmarillion (and I actually kicked around some Quenya names for my son when he was born), so I should have looked at that. Anyway, named my Tauren druid Grynx. Doesn't mean anything. Just seems like it fits.

To explain my first point, one of the main reasons why Tolkien's books are so much better than a lot of other fantasy authors (Brooks and the Paolini kid come to mind), is because the names of his characters actually mean something, whereas the other authors just throw in names that sound decent at first, but they never ring quite true, you know?

Mine, Nevershowerd, is a holdover from my Diablo II days, when the druids really looked nappy until you got some decent equipment. He is a lvl22 Tauren. My unsympathetic guildmates call him "Stinky", but that's just not accurate...

I made the meanest and darkest looking Tauren I could and named mine "MilkMeOnce". Yea I know, cow-theme, but the comedic potential for the naming of a 2 legged heffer is just to overwhelming to resist. I also considered:

Cowzakstan - geographical.
Mooonbeam - Druid are the ultimate flower child.
HolyCow - over used and likely not available.
Saltlick - no comment.
Steak - its whats for dinner.
Hamburgler - automatically gain hostile reputation with McDonald tribe.
BeefChuck - But his birth name is BeefCharles.
Holstein - a drewish cow...LOL I kill myself.
Jersey - forgeta'bout it...
MoreCowBell - because it can always use more.. (already taken)

Gwydion is my main. From the Bill Bailey sketch about a rubbish Welsh tourist centre, and their main act Gwydion and the Druid (a history of Wales through the medium of balloon modelling)

And I'm Welsh......

I usually put a lot of thought into my character names, but when I made my Druid, I never actually expected it to become my main. Thus, I just named it after my friend's character from FFXI who wanted me to create it. So I got stuck with something I didn't intend, but it actually turned out to be pretty decent. I named it "Xandamoon" (Female Night Elf). "Xanda" can be looked at as an interpretation of "Xanadu" meaning "an exotic place", and moon is self explanatory, and relates to the Druid class. So yeah, haha.

Anywho, best Druid name I've seen thus far is "Animality". I'm really not a big MK fan, but the relation between the name and class seems fitting on so many levels. I personally hate the stupid names (i.e., WillFeral, etc. - no offense if you have one) as well as lame sounding names for the sake of meaning/RP'ing (I know, that rules out about 90% of the names). Animality was extremely fitting, and didn't fall in either of the other 2 categories I mentioned. So I guess that's why I like it so much.

I saw Moofire today, I thought it was rather clever. (Tauren)

For me, I like Conform, as druids are masters of conforming to any situation.

Mine is Namerae.
I've been using the name for quite a few years... I was amazed by how many google results I got. xD
It's close to an Elven word for "Goodbye/I love you". :)

Don't discount real world history... There are online refrence material for medieval names. Druids were normally Celtic, or European, but various cultures have had shamanic, nature based or ancestor based belief structures. A general search for medieval recreation like the SCA, The Society for Creative Anachronism research authentic, historically provable names for use in their events and activities (.) From there you can refine your search.
