The TalentsFollow

Well I have found the right place to ask my questions for a Tauren Talent build. I would have read more posts but it's a school night and I have to jet to bed, so I'd figured I'd type out a storm fast into this post.

I'm of 41 seasons, as a Tauren Shaman. I like solo play, sometimes contribute to raids, and party here and there if it's an instance with some good loot from boss. When I do party, I melee and do all the dmg I can with spells. I tend to put up lightning shield and windfury, use lighting spell to pull mob, use shock spell, then lay down any necessary dmg dealing totems if I have an add or is a lil rough of a mob. I tend to heal myself if I solo when I need it, and don't carry food. I heal in parties as a last resort so my friends won't die.

I've used mace/shield and staffs. I would use 2 hand maces and axes if they suite the talent build you recommend. The staff I use is Illusionary Rod, look it up*very nice dmg and stat boosts*. I like the offense game Shaman provides and want my talent build to represent that. I will erase my talents and redo them accordingly to whatever build someone thinks would suite me best.

On the Auction house, 2 hand maces and axes tend to have same dmg and stat boosts. Can anyone tell me which weapon will be the most dmg I could do at end game of level 60?

If you post, please try to include every rank of talent I want. Be very precise for I'm terrible at following instructions unless clear enough for a l337 n00b to read =P

Thanks to anyone who posts, and sorry for the longwided post. =D

PvP or PvE is a question you didn't answer. It makes a lot of difference.

If you want the absolute most offensive shaman you can get, the build is elemental/enhance:

Elemental:

concussion-5/5
convection-5/5
reverbation-5/5
elemental focus-1/1
call of thunder-5/5
elemental fury-1/1
improved fire nova totem-2/2
improved lightning bolt- 1/5
lightning mastery- 5/5
Elemental Mastery- 1/1

Elemental total: 31

Enhancement:
arcane knowledge- 5/5
improved ghost wolf- 2/2
improved lightning shield- 3/3
thundering strikes- 5/5
flurry- 5/5

This is the build I'm using. Very strong in PvP, huge burst damage. Good solo or group. In PvE, its a little weak. The melee boosts help, but not getting toughness it doesn't help as much as possible, and I have trouble healing if multiple mobs are on me. In instances if I want to really lay out the dps I need to bring plenty of water (or a mage :). Alternative choices here would be to lose flurry and put points in some combo of 2 handed axes/maces, improved chain lightning (great in PvP, good in instances if you're going for dps), and improved lightning bolt.

If you go for this build, get the enhancement talents first, then the elemental ones. Order will be pretty easy, as you don't get much choice about it.

If you want a more balanced build, you could go elemental 30/rest 21. That would be more useful for instance healing, but be very weak in solo PvE due to a lack of any melee enhancements. Enhancement 30/rest 21 is also very viable if you want to be a solo PvE god and a decent healer. It really depends on what you want to specialize.

As for weapons- in end game all handed weapons, including staffs, have the same dps. This means the same damage. The difference is staffs have better stats (int and stam) while axes/maces have cooler effects. Choose your poison.

Ah excellent reply. I'm more PvE, but I do love to join raids. And I don't really think their is a big whoop of proving myself to NPCs by beatin them down, when I can make a 12 year old playing a Dwarf 5 levels higer then me cry in front of his computer as I spank him with my the blunt side of a sword. =P

So the answer is PvP. I will follow this build. Thank you very much. =D
