Noob quest with Flash of LightFollow

I know this proabably sounds very strange and noobish...but

What does flash of light good for?

I am level 24 at the moment, and I picked up FoL a while back...

So I am asking what exactly is this spell good for, cause it heals but a fraction of your Holy Light spell. I mem Holy light Rank 4 and 3 for the purpose of combat heals, and basicily I just dont see how I can afford to hot key a slot for that spell.

I mean, it share cooldown with HL, and it heals so little, in fact, post 20 level, it barely cover the hits the mob visit on ur party caster...or on you for that matter.

Oh yea, it seem to be only .5 second faster in casting speed, so what the heck?

What exactly is FoL for?

P.S does detect undead/frighten undead work on UD players?

P.SS why couldnt they be nice and have the holy light work the same way as Warcraft III holy light?

Well the short answer is mana effeciency. however your healing per second takes a huge hit in exchange. It's best purpose imo is to use as secondary healing with a priest to help save the priest a bit of mana while not taking a huge toll on your mana pool.

140mana, 1.5sec cast(no cooldown)
343-383 -> 363avg
458-498(Blessing of Light) -> 478avg

2.59 HP/mana
3.14 HP/mana(Blessing of Light)

242 HP/sec
319 HP/sec(Blessing of Light)

Holy Light
580mana, 2.5sec cast(no cooldown)
1246-1388 -> 1317avg
1646-1788(Blessing of Light) -> 1717avg

2.27 HP/mana
2.96 HP/mana(Blessing of Light)

687 HP/sec(Blessing of Light)

The biggiest thing these numbers show is Blessing of light makes a huge difference and you'll probably want to use it with flash of light to maximize the spell.


Not anymore they are humanoids now.


Because then we couldn't heal ourselves :P
