Taming the BeastFollow

Sorry to post this here, but didn't see much info in Quest section on this.

I just reached level 10 and got the Taming Beast quest. Was given a Taming Rod to tame a Large Crag Boar. I had 3 failed attempts and now have no charges left on my Taming Rod. Each attaempted charm had the Boar attack me. Going back to the Trainer has nothing to offer.

1. Did I do something worng with this quest?
2. Can I get the rod "re-charged"?
3. Deleting the quest and the reopening it with the trainer gave me the same rod back with no charges.
4. Am I supposed to see somebody else?

I appreciate any and all assistance with this problem I'm having.

Do This. Abandon the quest. Then go back to the trainer and he should give you the quest again, and another taming rod. .

When you try to tame something It will attack you, Try not to tame anything higher level than you. 1 it can be done, but very hard, 2 you will be pummled to uncertain death.

Any crag boar will do, and it doesn't have a level on the quest. find the lowest one you can, but Aspect of the Monkey on and start taming.
If you have concussion shot pop one of those at the beast then start taming. This will be you a few sec of free taming.

be sure you destroy the taming rod too or you won't get a new one with charges on it.
