I was wondering how far a player can infiltrate into an enemy city. Me and some friends were talking about the possiblity of using a 3 man team of rogues to sneak deep into a city and killing a major npc character. I know it would be suicide the moment you came out of stealth. But would it be possible to reach the npc? Or is there something that makes you automatically detected as soon as you enter the city?

What's the deepest you've ever gotten?

Its possible of course, however, you will have to get through level 50-60 guards, so you will need to be around that level or have 5 points in MoD so they cannot detect you. The hardest part imo would be getting past the guards at the front gate, after that, it should be cake.

Im a 25 rogue, and my friend is a 33 paladin.

We went down to the barrens to do some NPC wacking, and decided to see if we could get into the crossroads. at both entrances there are 2 guards, but at the side openings there are only 1 major guard for each. So my friend gets the attention of the guard and runs (they follow for a really long ways), and i snuck in. Sticking to the walls i managed to surprise a bunch of 10-15 guys by appearing out of nowhere and killing the shop NPC they were using. Needless to say, i was promptly zerged by everyone at the crossroads. good times

We do it all the time on our server ^_^

if you mix Dash and Vanish at the right time you can do it without die'n.

however. it gets harder over time.
you can sneak in to higher level cities by sneaking onto a Zeplin. for example you can get to the Stranglethron Orc City. wanna **** off an Orc, kill him on a Zeplin.

I've been in the undead city and out again. I didn't see the use in killing anyone or anything just for the sake of it since as you say it's suicide.

I have also killed guards in Hammerfall for fun. One time a couple of 40's rogues saw me and decided to try kill me. I guess they don't realise how easy it is to see through stealth when you are >10 levels higher.
