warlock macro and related threadFollow

Well after many days of searching and trying all the 'listed' text commands, I come here to the forums for help. I am trying to create macros to cut down on the twitching of the mouse that warlocks have to do. Here are the only macros I use at the moment.

/assist
/cast (whatever is my highest level instant dot)

I also have a follow macro button.

What I would really like is to be able to tell my pet to attack my target after assisting. I would also like to be able to set assist, or just assist the first person I am grouped with.

I understand Blizzard nerfed auto casting wands, and stacking more than one casting spell, but why can't I use a set macro to 'use minorhealthstone' instead of having to drag stuff to a bar every 10 minutes? Isn't there someway to order my pet to attack without clicking again? Or to use an item by name? There once was a UI thing for this, but I can't find it.
