So, according to my understanding, there is no way for the pet to learn new ability unless you tame a beast that have the ability and use it. So, there really is no other way? Because I have taken care of my loyal pet since he was lvl 8, he is now lvl 18, and has became my very best friend. And I don't want to tame another beast cause I can't dismiss my very best friend. Don't even want to put him in the stable. Help, if you know answer.

What you need to do is get a stable, I think it runs 5 or 10 silver for the first one. Put your current pet in there, then go out and tame other pets with the abilities you need (Except for growl which is available from pet trainers). You can find a good lists of what mobs to look for here: http://www.goodintentionsguild.info/hunters.html

Remember you have to have the pet use the ability in battle to learn it. After that abandon the pet (right click on it's pic) and go get your old one from the stable. Then use the beast training ability to teach it the new skills.

Some pets come with an ability. Usually you will learn it very quickly. Notice i say YOU learn it. Once you learn the skill you can abandon that temporary pet go back to the stable get your pet and train it the skill YOU learned. No matter how many times you switch pets YOU will still know this skill. You will have to train each pet as well. There is no other way around it though, you will have to stable your favorite pet so you can charm the ones you need for the necessary skills.

One thing to keep in mind. Your pet (i may be mistaken) gets training points when he levels up. Thus enabling you to train him your newfound skills. He starts with either zero or a negative amount. DO NOT tame a beast the same level as you. Your pet can only be 90% of your experience. If you are lvl 14 and you tame a 14 beast you will not be able to train him till he has leveled to 15 which is after you level to 15. I found this out to my chagrin as i was just into lvl 14 when i tamed him. I had to wait a long time before i got to train him growl. Don't worry though he will catch up to you quickly.
