Any way to use flamestrike in PvE?Follow

Flamestrike is a dandy spell for PvP, but is there any good time to use it during PvE? If you only use it on one or two mobs, the mana cost per damage is huge, but if you ever use it on a bigger group of mobs, you can kiss your low HP, cloth armored booty goodbye as you rack up the hate. Am I wrong?

I'd think that on lower level mobs, you could use it, they run up to you, and then you use the AOE Ice spell(name escapes me at the moment) to lock em all in place, back up and the blast away :-)


I don't have flamestrike yet on my mage I don't think so I haven't tried that tactic yet :-)

On my warlock I do have the fire rain spell (name also escapes me at the moment). It looks neat so if I'm full of mana I sometimes use it just to watch the fireballs fall! :-)


Also I would think an aoe fire type spell could be useful in a group once the mobs are all firmly aggroed on someone else :-)

Speaking of instances I tried to solo the Deadmines today at 28 and made it all the way to the first boss.

He was 10 lvls below me elite but I didn't even drop him to 3/4 he was resisting everything had huge hp and hit for about 150.

What works well in instances is when your group has several mobs on them usally 3 or more. I cast flame strike on the bunch of them, run in cast nova to freeze them in place. Run back out and cast another flamestike and then combustionated blastwave. Yes you do get a hell load of aggro, so isn't too recommended unless you have an extremely well coordinated group that can pull the aggro off of you quickly. Nice thing bout flame strike and haveing a lot of fire talents is that the crit rate for me right now is around 24%.
