I'm currently level 14 so i havent grouped much but i was wondering if stealth ever does come into play. For talents i went with assasination for the critical strike boost so ill be running across stealth alot in the future. From my experience so far i haven't used stealth hardly at all because if the speed decrease. I was just wondering if there was a better side to stealth that i can't see.

Stealth good as well for dueling if they do not have see invis. not sure if they can anyway even if they do...

Stealth is great! I love it.
I have invested some points into Master of Deception (5) and Camouflage (2) and am very happy with the results.
I pickpocket every humanoid that I come across. You get almost as much money from pickpocket as you get from the mob drop. You also get locked chests that help improve your lockpicking skill. You can even get some cool items.
Stealth is great for starting out fights with mobs. If your using daggers backstab will do great damage. If you not using daggers garrote is nice and when you hit 26 cheap shot is even better.
I think stealth is one of the main features of rogue. I don't think you have to use it to make an effective rogue, but its a great tool if you use it correctly.

Stealth is outstanding for pulling, if you want to tac on extra damage. Just backstab while in stealth, and then allow the other players to build hate, and then backstab again. Man, I love this game!
Stealth combined with ambush is a great opener, with Precision 5 and Crit BS's and Ambush I can open up a fight with crit over 340 at lvl 30. That is almost half of the mobs life. Using stealth becomes an art form. Knowing when and how to use it will make you a better rogue. Also, if your group is pulling, Stealth out a bit in front of the party, as mob moves into the camp his back is opened wide to your arsonal.

Once you gain the levels you see what I am talking about.
Basically You need to be hidden to use some attacks. Those in turn create combo points which inturn creates a bigger finishing blow such as evicerate.
Also you WILL NOT be able to get the poison skills without it. Actually you will need Vanish and cant get that till lev 22 so go figure why poisons are level 20.

Don't need no vanish to get poisons, just need to be a little lucky, 4 nude runs to get the key and if you pickpocket successfully you don't trigger an attack. One nude run to get the book. One garrote kills the tower guards dead, the gouge then garrote, she talks of is just extra fluff.

Stealth what would I do without you.
I ran the deadmines with 3 paladins, I was the puller and without stealth I couldn't do it.
When there where two mobs walking together, stealth up and sap the combat unit then all four of us rush the magic user while the guard is helpless. Scouted the goblin forge and found all the mobs, even the ones hidden in the alcove, preventing a nasty death to extra mobs. Found most of the invisible guards while stealthed.
Stealth solo helps me get behind camps to pick of hard mobs. Sap once again allows me to attack duos safely. Stealth gets me to boxes and quest locations without needless combats.
I will admit that I liked stealth a whole lot more once it got the speed boost at rank 2, didn't use it much till them.
