Is it true that Hunters get a Zergling pet as an Easter Egg? Or is this just a vicious rumour? I'd really be interested in playing if I could get a Zergling, since I'm still waiting for Worlds of Starcraft...=p
Not an easter egg.
Itty-bitty zerglings, diablos, and panda cubs are a gift for those that purchased the collector's edition. (Which was well worth the money in my opinion. I very much enjoy the art book, which is easily worth $25-$30 itself.) When a person logs into their first character (I'm guessing here.. I've heard you only get it for one character) you have a little gift in your inventory that you can turn in to get another item to summon your little pet. They don't do a darn thing, just look stupid/cute or annoy you for the inventory space they take up. ;)

Even if it does nothing, it would be awesome to get a little Zergling. It's the closest to my Worlds of Starcraft fantasy I can get =p
I'll probably pick up the collectors edition just to get this little guy. A little Diablo would be kinda neat too, but Zerglings are much more 'ubah'.

You obviusly never played warcraft 3. Night elfs can get and use Hydralisks. Plus zerglings are realy frigen weak, never face

for the CE, you get a pet for EACH of the characters you make. I've tried it myself. so it's not just one character. ;p
yeah, I got the CE and was disapointed to find out the pets do nothing but run around. It'd be really funny to see a panda beating on a Kobold, imo ^^

Yeah, I'm gonna pick up the collector's edition just for my little zergy, I love the Zerg and all of Starcraft, which is weird cuz I hate all the other games in the genre.
(off topic) I'd becareful what you say Kurnoc, my zergling armies from Starcraft have laid waste to countless Protoss settlements, by themselves. Gotta love those cute, cuddly, huge mobs of zerglings!!

I wish anyone still looking for the collectors edition the best of luck... because unless you find it off someone on ebay.. you have nearly a 0% chance of getting it.. they made a limited quantity that they sent out on the realse day and will not be making any more. no stores will be receiving any more. which is why... pre-ordering is such a fine thing.
And yes.. all characters created on a CE account can pick any one of the 3 pets to have follow them around aimlessly.
I recently went to the mall by my house and looked at one collectors edition for 75$, passed on that, went to Electronics Boutique and saw it for 70$, and passed on that. Can't see spending another 30$ on the game just to get some pets...hell, I'm not even sure I want to play, so spending 70-80$ on the game is definately out.
It would be cool to get a Hydralisk, even if it doesn't do anything. Sic em! hah, just kidding.

whoa. if you found them in store, you should check ebay and see how much you could sell 'em for!
