~3GB left on the download.

Assuming some ****** hasn't blocked the ports, I might get to load it up sometime this year.

I was lucky. I already had the beta client installed, and it was just one patch to bring that to release.

The Miralukans are actually pretty similar to Orcs as far as available skin tones. It's really just various shades of green, with one dark olive that looks like green and brown made a baby together. I'm not a big fan of them either, as they look just like humans, except they're green. But Commandos can't be Twi'leks and I didn't like any of the other races available, so that's what I went with. And no worries on making a toon over on JTT. I haven't been playing a whole lot this week anyways. I feel like a slacker, because there's already people in my guild who are level 50, and I'm only 20 lol.

For optimal jedi weapons, I have my artifice crafter researching the best hilts for each level range, if possible. That means both the Consular and the Knight ones. In response, I have a Consular who will take Synthweaving, so that both always have access to quality armor.

Same thing for the gun-users side. Will probably give a Smuggler Armstech for gun barrels, then a Trooper Armormech.

Then I'll PROBABLY give a Smuggler Cybertech for the ship upgrades. All that is left is Biochem, which my Shadow will likely cover.

I'm organized! Smiley: schooled

Someone with REAL crafting OCD would make sure each crafter had a follower that got the crit bonus to crafting and the relevant gathering skills, if possible.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

I'm slightly drunk and playing SWTOR, so it's all good. Turns out a full bottle of white wine and a BUSH AMBER pint might have been too much to drink in one go.

At least I can still hit the keys in the right order.

I chose to organize them based on class, instead. ;) Plus, some of them just weren't so nice. For instance, as a Knight you get a companion with Synthweaving, which works. But Artifice just seems so much more knighty. You also get one with a bonus to Armstech which is just... stupid. Though one of your companions does have a small TH crit bonus.

It just seems right for a Guardian to have artifice. So much of the lore around Jedi focuses on the amount of time they spend on honing their lightsabers to perfectly fit their style over time. Artifice, in virtue of letting me create the lightsaber, as well as its hilt and mods, just seems right. :P

Early Happy New Year. Not quite 4 hrs away for the east coast.

So Maz, how's the lag from EU to a US server?

~200ms, so it's awesome.

In the process of trying out every class and race combo. So far, Jedi Knight looks like it might be my main class, but Trooper/Bounty Hunter looks interesting as well. Wish the Smuggler wasn't so dependent on covers, though.

That would make more sense, if your character actually did the crafting. I don't think any of the Republic-side companions get a crit bonus to Artifice, so I guess it doesn't matter too much.

Sadly, that's not very likely for me. At least not during the first half of the year or so, while I'm down here.

1. John has family here, and it's a small town. People gossip like no one's business, and I'd hate for it to get back to them and then have his grandparents find out or something.

2. The pickings here are slim, and I'm actually very picky about who I sleep with, and I want to get to know them first. Casual hook ups just aren't my thing.

If you go Scoundrel (the one that gets stealth), you don't focus on cover anymore. And gunslinger gets a portable cover shield, so you don't need to worry about being caught without it. Worth bringing one up to 10 to see if you like Scoundrel, in any case. It doesn't take long. Though Ord Mantel is easily my least favorite starting zone. Still though, I adore the Smuggler's charming personality.

As for servers, my Republic characters are on The Constant.

I might have to give the Scoundrel a go then. When I saw the cinematic with the Smuggler guy, I wanted one of those so bad. Too bad Gunslingers are focused on the cover system. I don't mind taking cover, but I mind having some of my abilities disabled unless I'm in cover or crouching.

I'll have to give The Constant a look once the latency issues go away. Can't even connect to any of the servers right now.

Its generally standard to heavy when it comes to populations. At prime time, it's busy but has no wait, which is nice. Pigtails has Sith characters on Jekk Jekk Thar. It occurs to me that someone should start a server thread in the TOR forum...

Dammit I hate latency issues! I was so happy yesterday when I loaded up the game and found out that I was having the same latency as in WoW. Today, it's all crap, though. If I don't get the 1003 error on server log-in, I start out with 150,000-200,000ms latency.

Makes the game hard to play.

I haven't had any lag spikes today, so it either has to be the international connection or your ISP. I approve of strangling your systems admin. Any judge who has ever had internet problems will understand.

My guess is that the ISP is throttling the connection for some obscure reason, since I had no latency issues yesterday and WoW is running fine right now.

I want to level up my new Jedi. Smiley: crymore

Patience you must have, young padawan.

Happy starting year '12 to all drunken and bored durids.

That reminds me. Aeth, can you give me some beer tips?
I liked Duvel, alot.
I haven't tried lots of beers, but I'd like to get into it
Here are some beers I have tried already:
Kilkenny - Definetely didn't like this one
Chocolate stout - This was alot better, I kinda liked this, but it was very filling. It was like I ate a lunch or something.
Hoegaarden - This was good
Elovehnä - A finnish beer you have probably never heard of

I think those were the ones I've tried, not much of a list, so tips are much appreciated.
Duvel is my definete favourite so far.

So as of right now I have:

Jedi Guardian- Artifice, Treasure Hunting, Archaeology.
Jedi Shadow- Biochem, Bioanalysis, Diplomacy
Smuggler Gunslinger- Cybertech, Scavenging, Underworld Trading
Jedi Sentinel- ???

Future 2 goals:
Jedi Sage- Synthweaving, Archaeology. 3rd will be Slicing or Investigation (probably the latter).
Trooper Commando- Armstech, scavenging, Investigation.

Long off goals:
Smuggler Scoundrel- Slicing. Dunno what else.
Trooper Vanguard- Armormech, Scavenging, Slicing.

Altitis strikes again! Fortunately, I have little desire to be at cap fast. And I'm more than happy to slowly level up many characters. When I finally get around to trying Sith, the lineup will be similar. Except that I won't care if my people take Underworld Trading or not.

My "mains" will probably be my Sage and Sentinel. But, like I said, I have no particular desire to get to cap right away. All of my currently existing (and immediate goal) characters are pretty strongly light-oriented. But I like how I can still give them different personalities. And there are a lot of responses that are different based on your class. So it always feels like I'm actually a different character, even if all four of my Jedi are light-based. For instance, one of my Knights is more "charming," where the other is more duty-driven.

For instance, one of my knights is very duty-based and introspective. The other is a charmer who may actually question his master (though not with impertinence). Both choose light side options, but a huge portion of their dialogue is actually remarkably different. And I've found that many of the quests, even if you pick the same option, lead to very different comments from the PC.

For instance, on the Jedi homeworld, you have the option to take part in a ritual journey up a mountain for the pilgrims you meet there. A consular, in response to a comment at the end of the quest, might respond that Jedi are friends to all people equally, no more or less to the pilgrims. The Twi'lek responds that this is why the two groups can share the world.

The Knight, who picked the same option, told her that his duty was to the Jedi Order, not to the Pilgrims (though it isn't as ******* when spoken as written). Her response to him was totally different.

BioWare, I love you.

I'm just going with all scavenging tradeskills until I hit level cap. It's what I do in WoW, and it works pretty well in terms of getting good income as you level. My level 20 Sorceror currently has 41k credits, and I've still spent a bit of money on gear for myself and my companion. I'm thinking for my Sorceror I will probably go with Biochem when I get her to level cap. I hear it's pretty good money.

Of course, I read on a crafting guide on Curse's TOR site Darthater, that archaeology would make good money too. So far, this hasn't been the case. The crystals barely sell for anything, although the tablets do all right.

Also, I'm not entirely sure I like the militaristic flavor of the class quests for my Commando. It makes logical sense, but I have a very strong disdain for the military, and it's hard for me to get into a character that is part of the military. So I might end up making a different toon for my Republic character, and leveling a BH Mercenary instead. Although I have no earthly idea what that will be. I'm too damn picky in my classes.

Look up stuff on Beeradvocate.com, specifically the good beer stores/pubs nearby.
I like to just go to one of the stores nearby that have a good selection of beer and pick some that look cool/I think I may like/I haven't had yet.
As for some beers similar to Duvel: La Chouffe (the standard one, not McChouffe or La Chouffe dubbel tripel IPA) and Delirium Tremens are really good.
Westmalle Tripel is a slightly different style but Tripels and Strong Pale Ales are close cousins so definitely worth trying.

Other than that, I'd say try out all different styles you can get your hands on, just to figure out what you like and because there's so many cool possibilities.
