So I just got back into the game about 2 months ago. The main reason for coming back was that I could never find a game that had the economy base that FFXI had. Plus crafting seemed to compliment it extremely well.
I already have alchemy at 70 and smithing at 53. Clothcraft coming up at 37. I was wondering with such an old game, which craft do you think would give me the greatest return on investment at 110? I know the typical answer might be goldsmithing, but what about woodworking or leathercraft? What types of items do they make nowadays for big money?

Unfortunately, crafting is far from being a power house for big money and if you're in it solely for profit, I strongly recommend giving up crafting now*.
If you do want to make gil with crafting, I suggest cooking, woodworking, or something with a strong consumable focus. The issue is that since the raising of the job level cap, there's been a great deal of easy-to-obtain rare/ex gear and weapons, which tends to kill the big ticket items. In the end though, it all really comes down to searching over www.ffxiah.com and picking out what is extremely profitable.
Also, learn, level, and cap off synergy. That's probably where most the profit in crafting is now.
*Crafting isn't profitless, but it needs to be something you enjoy otherwise it'll just take all your gil and you'll have nothing in return.
