so i been doin WW for a few months non stop now and already hit lvl 89 with no sub crafts what so ever. lookin at guides and ffxi wiki for crafting recipes, kinda looks like going up to 100 without any subs is nearly impossible. i mainly wanted to get 100 and start making HQ staves and signing me all 8. maybe a few brd instruments too. as of now im still working on hands and apron. currently getting skill ups on mythic harps and selling back to npcs.

was wondering if hitting 100 WW is possible w/o subs. if so what is the best route to go, if any?
&
if i have to break down and lvl a sub, which one will be the best? like what lvl will i have to get it to in order to reach 100 WW and whats a good path to take to get it there?

thanks in advance. ^.^

it is feasible now, not cheap but you can do it.

lacquer tree lumber caps at 91
wind crystal + lacquer tree log
lacquer tree sap caps at 96
water crystal + lacquer tree log
lancewood lumber caps at 99

jacaranda lumber caps at 100

Frankly I found it easier to focus on WW without subs, some of that stuff ****** me off, so I did go and hit 100 WW without doing any crafts that required subs. But Lujanii is correct in the synths you'll need to do, and after doing the math back when I did it, that route cost me a lot less gil then any other synth I could have done(results may vary)! So good luck and keep the crafting going!

wow really? past few days i was just lookin at the recipes for WW and was beginning to become disappointed cuz i didnt think i could hit 100 with out any subs. but if it has been done then i can do it too. just didnt wanna blow money on blood logs just to skill up on. that would have sucked lol. they like 100k on Odin. if thats what i need to follow then imma follow it to a T and hopefully can be 100 within the end of this week.

How the world has changed...

Back when I did this, it was Kabura Arrows (profitable); Eight-Sided Pole (unprofitable, but de-synthing the Pole and re-using the ingredients made it less so); Bookshelf (profitable); Star Globe (profitable); Royal Bookshelf (profitable, but took months to sell all of the resulting inventory); the occasional Lancewood Lumber when the logs could be found on the AH; Primate Staff (profitable, which is hard to believe now); and then the notorious Iron-Splitter --> Steel-Splitter, which used up all the previous profits (this was when Adaman Ingots were 400K each).

And then I could do about 20 - 25 synths and make 6M - 12M a week pretty easily with Elemental Staves and Cursed Togis (only one other Woodworker on the server put Togis on the AH, and we were careful not to directly compete with each other, we sort of took turns).

That seems like a lost world now...

I was under the impression you could hit 60ish WW with only 100k is that still possible?
