Sorry if this has been asked before, I haven't seen anything and there are still things that seem to be a mystery on the subject.
All the synergy recipes state the required crafts by ranks and not level, for example to craft a Machismo you need:
Smithing: Veteran
Goldsmithing: Artisan
So If I originally had Smithing as Veteran but then deleved to 80, it will still say Veteran despite it's level...My question is, will my Smithing work in this recipe even though it is only level 80?

Hey,
My guess would be nobody has tested the system in this way, this gives you the perfect chance to test and see what happens. If your smithing skill is dead on 80 and you have the Veteran rank, then aim for a smithing recipe that caps at 96 or above if made through standard crafting, this should tell you if skill is involed or just rank.
Let us know if you do some testing.

After some testing I found my answer. So even if you have "veteran" listed as your skill rank if your only level 80 the furnace says you don't require the skill needed.

I think you'd have better success on this recipe with a ls party working the recipe.
1 guy being a smithing veteran, 1 guy being a goldsmithing artisan and maybe 4 guys with misc skills for furnace stokers.
put 1 guy in charge of thwacks, 1 guy in charge of repairs and other 4 stocking the feywell..
its a difficult recipe to do solo. not to mention the ingredients are a pain to get.
this dagger is more of a town show piece.. to be honest. for its level its too slow and other daggers out perform it. for as much trouble as you will go thru collecting the evoliths, ingredients and crafting it..
you could have took on labrith of ozozo or the blau douche enm.. with the same party you gathered the ingredients for this one with..
