Coral and the Update to WhitemageFollow

Greetings and salutations,
With the April update's changes to White Mage, Raise II and Raise III are being retooled so that they can be cast for the same mp cost as Raise I and as I understand it, with a faster casting time to boot. Additionally, the level of Reraise is dropping, making it more accessible to lower level players with a White Mage subjob. Given this, I'm curious whether any of my fellow bonecrafters, or anyone else, would anticipate a change in the coral market.
Coral Fragments are used in a lot of gear of course, but none quite so prominent as Reraise Hairpins/Gorgets, etc. But now those items don't seem quite as important. Leveling players will be able to provide their own Reraise more easily. Dynamis and other endgame players may be able to more easily secure high level raises that obviate the necessity for these items, etc...
At the least I expect to see the price of the jewelry go down a bit. If that also triggers a drop in the price of the fragments, maybe it will make coral armor slightly less of a loss, or perhaps not. As I'm currently providing gorgets for my own Dynamis group, I've a vested interest in seeing how this goes, but mostly I'm curious to hear some speculation. Perhaps there's something fundamental I'm missing that will hold the prices steady, or maybe the market is so controlled by RMT's that it will take many months before any possible impact is even seen.

Luck to you in your crafting,
Ruy

I assume hairpins and earrings will still be used, because you can't be stopping to cast Raise in the middle of battle. So, anytime you have a boss battle that is of any difficulty, everyone is going to want Reraise of some form.

Now I think that Dynamis use might be hurt a little bit, but I think Earrings will still be popular, due to the fact not everyone wants to sub WHM for Reraise lol.

Anyone who normally got to use RR, still gets to have RR under the new system. And I don't think WHMs were really the major buyer of RR equipment to begin with. I know mostly Melees were required to buy RR items for events, and none of them should be subbing WHM or SCH.

The only thing I can see WHMs buying reraise items for before that they won't be now is level capped areas. Specifically the first three Promyvions.

I think what the OP meant, is with Raise 2 being cheaper, instead of using RR Hairpins, people will just ask the WHMs and SCHs to Raise people instead of using the RR Hairpins...

But honestly, the only place I could see this happening, would be Dynamis and I assume that any serious Dynamis Shell will still require RR items if possible.

I suppose if your dynamis shell is new or very small rr items may play an important role. I rarely cast anything but r3 when the occasional player or sac puller bites it. R3 became cheap and fast as soon as all the whm levelled sch to 37. Sometimes people will volunteer for r1 or r2 just because they want to get up quickly.

Lately when soloing blm and smn I op to bubu and use tabs to get reraise and refresh, then op back to windy from there to wherever I am going to solo.

At 10 tabs, reraise is a real bargain and has saved me a huge amount of gil on rr items. Sch, assault drops of rr potions, and FoV reraise already have put a big dent in the rr market. Dropping the mp cost probably just means I will use celerity for recast timer more often when raising multiple people and penury a bit less.
