Greetings and salutations,
With the April update's changes to White Mage, Raise II and Raise III are being retooled so that they can be cast for the same mp cost as Raise I and as I understand it, with a faster casting time to boot. Additionally, the level of Reraise is dropping, making it more accessible to lower level players with a White Mage subjob. Given this, I'm curious whether any of my fellow bonecrafters, or anyone else, would anticipate a change in the coral market.
Coral Fragments are used in a lot of gear of course, but none quite so prominent as Reraise Hairpins/Gorgets, etc. But now those items don't seem quite as important. Leveling players will be able to provide their own Reraise more easily. Dynamis and other endgame players may be able to more easily secure high level raises that obviate the necessity for these items, etc...
At the least I expect to see the price of the jewelry go down a bit. If that also triggers a drop in the price of the fragments, maybe it will make coral armor slightly less of a loss, or perhaps not. As I'm currently providing gorgets for my own Dynamis group, I've a vested interest in seeing how this goes, but mostly I'm curious to hear some speculation. Perhaps there's something fundamental I'm missing that will hold the prices steady, or maybe the market is so controlled by RMT's that it will take many months before any possible impact is even seen.
Luck to you in your crafting,
Ruy
