PROGRESS THROUGH POWER
NIGHTMARE MODE OPERATIONS
Alignment: The Sith Empire
Server Type: US-PVP
Guild Focus: Nightmare Mode Operations, Server First Achievements, Theorycrafting & Min-Maxing
Progress Through Power is a competitive endgame Operation (raid) guild forming for the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Our goal as a guild is plain and simple. Progress members plan to kill bosses and collect their loot, fast. Our players consist of world ranked World of Warcraft raiders, former e-sports competitors, and seasoned min-maxers who have proven their experience. Our members will be designing their characters from the ground up to master the mechanics and theorycraft of their role. The guild plans on dominating server first nightmare mode boss kills. While we are of course open to every other aspect of the game - player versus player, missions, crafting, socializing, role-playing - our sole priority will be raid performance.
We are currently in the process of recruiting our initial levelers with the utmost scrutiny. There are a lot of players out there who want to raid; we want the best of them. With a number of members who have participated in the testing program, the guild knows The Old Republic is going to be outstanding. We suspect we have years of quality raiding ahead of us. We will only be recruiting a handful of players, so we are looking for long term members who will be around for the journey. All players must plan to be active in raiding and will be given an equal chance to earn a permanent core raid position. That being said, we understand that everybody will want to participate in Operations. Rest assured, we plan for every member to find adequate raid time.
The officers of the guild have years of leadership experience with both MMORPG guilds and core raid groups. Every Progress officer is and will be confident, intelligent, reasonable and understanding. We will form strong chemistry and camaraderie as a guild and will keep the guild very democratic.
The Old Republic progression will be based on 16 player content. We plan to raid four or more nights a week during progression. Invites will go out every raid night at 6:30 PM and the first pull will be at 7:00 PM. This means that all raiders should be in the instance and ready to pull before 7:00 PM on raid nights. Raids are planned to last until 11:00 PM. Our raiding schedule during new content progression will be as follows:
Monday - 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Tuesday - 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Wednesday - 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Thursday - 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
* All times are Eastern Time (UTC -5:00)
Core raid members will be expected to maintain higher than 90% attendance; this includes punctuality. Also, while we plan to always raid at least four nights a week during progression, it will not be uncommon for us to call a raid an hour early. We understand burnout exists and will keep the raid climate as laid back as possible. There will be no yelling in Ventrilo and we plan socialize and joke around before, during and after the raid. With that said, we may also decide quite often to raid up to seven days during a progression week based on the attitude of the group, especially if a boss kill or raid clear is imminent. Once progression is complete, the raiding schedule will be closer to two or three nights a week, or however long it takes to farm content.
We are very excited to see what BioWare has in store for the loot system in The Old Republic. It has been said that the loot distribution will be much more generous than in the MMORPGs most of us are used to. Nevertheless, not much has been said about heroic and nightmare mode loot systems in the game. Because of this, the guild currently plans to have a trustworthy loot council distribute loot.
Our application process will sometimes take up to a week and we reject more applications than we accept. We will initially consider applicants based on their application, however we may want to interview an applicant on Ventrilo, Skype or IRC before acceptance. Applications should be neat and concise. If you can't fill out a thorough and informative application you have no business being in this guild.
We will be taking endgame Operations very seriously. We expect players to know exactly how to min-max their character every time a new patch releases. If you aren't experienced with theorycrafting or are unfamiliar with the term, this may not be the guild for you. We are interested in experienced gamers who may be new to raiding or MMOs, however they must have the motivation and intention of maximizing the raid performance of their character.
Players will be expected to be on time to raids, alert, and motivated to down bosses. During progression, players should be able to make raids on Sunday and possibly Friday and Saturday nights if planned ahead of time. We will only raid on Fridays and Saturdays when the group feels it necessary. We understand, however, that there will be some days when a core raider simply cannot make it to a raid and plan to be flexible enough to continue progression in the absence of the member.
