Oh, that's true. In my case, I'm just setting up portals near all my bases first, so when the patch hits I light a fire, and BOOM! Walk into **** and see several portals nearby.

Are portals one-way only? Couldn't you build two portals into **** from the main world, one at each location you want to travel to, and mark the path between them in ****? I imagine we'll find out anyhow, but it shouldn't be terribly difficult to figure out how to make it work.

Of course, once we can implement a working rail system, travel won't be so bad.

I just glance at this thread cause I've been continuously debating getting this for the past couple months or so, but I just had a picture of creating a roller-coaster through ****. Have to put a sign at the start though - Note: Owners are not responsible for any damnation that occurs due to entering **** nor any harm that is brought on by wandering ghasts.

If anyone still logs in the game, I need to most possible papyrus. If you can, harvest some for me and put it into my chest in the tree house, or my pyramid, thanks!

I actually wanna make tons of bookshelves, if anyone's bored.

The Basement of my castle is full of reeds. And has about 10-12 stacks of reeds waiting to turn into paper. Just re-plant the reeds when you harvest them (or harvest only the top two). Vataro's tower is also growing reeds. Along the road to Belkira's and Magic's place from yours is a pond and river with reeds growing along it. Again, just replant what you take so it keeps growing.

I also have a cactus farm growing on the first floor of my base; you know, in case you ever want to fill your moat with something safer than lava.

You could also try typing in "!item 339 512" to get a few stacks of paper. (If Shaow has that set up) :P

I removed the command due to the admin tool refusing to allow me to create separate group accounts, and the jackass who is hiding TNT in houses.

I noticed during one of the times where I could see through the ground that there is a tunnel lined with TNT. I dunno if that's someone on here's project or not. Smiley: lol

Couple of big previews out for the Halloween update. Fun news:

1. **** is now "The Slip."
2. Zombie Pigmen are neutral until you hit them - then they attack.
3. One of the new blocks slows you down when you run over it.
4. Fireballs from ghasts seem to destroy the block they hit and spread fire to nearby blocks.

That's actually why Notch changed it. Apparently naming it "****" got a ton of negative feedback - from both religious folks who were offended by such a damning place in a "kid's" game, and atheists who detested any reference to religion.

Well, who built the huge stone/wood/brick house with the hellgate in the basement across the road from my little house with trees on it?

That thing is huge.

I think my next project is going to be on the other side of the tunnel.

That is my house. I built what I assume the hellgates will be in advance. I read that they are frames made from obsidian that you light a fire inside of.

I think I found Ikkian's project. Then I went a bit further and found a "Danger, this is bat country" sign and a big pit. Turns out the pit had a hole through the bottom of the map. Now I'm stuck floating in empty space taking perpetual damage.

So far I've only noticed new music. I can't find any info online as to how exactly a "slip" portal is built. I also don't see any info on clocks or lanterns.

Lanterns and Multiplayer vunerability have been postponed.

A portal to "The Slip" is constructed by creating a 4x5 frame of Obsidian (4 blocks across, 5 blocks tall) and lighting the center on fire.

Where the Xs are obsidian blocks. Just use a lighter in the center area. I think to use the portal you have to stand in it for a couple seconds, not just walk through it, fyi.

A clock is 4 gold bars in the top, left, bottom, and right, with a redstone dust in the middle:

In the crafting window:

X G X


Where the Xs are empty slots, Gs are gold bars, and Os are redstone dust.

Well, I went into the Slip and found some pig men... they didn't aggro, but I killed one with my bow and another one came from behind and ganked me. I died almost instantly.

Yup, they attack once attacked. Speaking of which, spiders used to not aggro during the day unless attacked, but now I think they aggro all the time. :(

The Slip is kind of scary... and deranged.

I didn't have enough obsidian to make a full frame. I managed to cut the corners off and it still worked.

Oh, you'll want to not die right now. Apparently there is a bug that makes you lose all your inventory (not just have it dropped) when you die.

Yeah...

Slip is going to be a bit of maybe travel only at the moment for me. Killed three Ghasts though, just need a few arrows. They were a long drop down though so I assume they dropped nothing, but am unsure.

Sorry, the Slip is now called "The Nether." Pigmen are fun - I killed one, and like the others, got swarmed by 5 of their friends. Oddly, I put one gate up near my base, but when I used it to leave it created a new portal about 30 blocks away from the original.

Trying to figure out what the heck to do in ****. I might just set a portal next to my spawn points so I can keep going back in exploring.
