Crowd Control in RiftFollow

Is there a need for CC in Rift? If so, what classes do this best?

Are there any classes that can CC multiple targets like the enchanter and bard in EQ?

I've played WoW forever but the ultimate support role is something they never really had in that game, just tank/dps/heal.

The need for CC is really only there if your group has a bad tank or a bad healer. If you have a good tank and a good healer CC isn't necessary (I can't vouch for dungeons in the 30+ level range though) because stuff will be controlled by only attacking the tank and the healer will keep him alive, therefore making CC unnecessary.

CC is always helpful though, I've seen Bards and Druids who put casters/ healers to sleep during a run and things went much more smoothly...but the situation was by no means unmanageable without the CC, it was just more difficult.

I am not sure who does CC the best, I know Druids have a sleep spell, Bards do as well, but I hear Dominators do really well.

I have had a couple times where mild crowd contorl is very nice at allowing you to move through instances faster without making sure to pull only a single creep at a time and for me i have found transmorgify with the dominator to be very efficent. It lets you basically nullify any single creep for around 30 seconds and it costs next to no points in a soul tree which i find very appealing. I dont know about other people but i am thinking im probably more likely to play 1 primary tree 1 secondary and 1 with almost nothing. Dominator lets me pick a nothing that is still very helpful in the game.
