Thank you!

I peed my pants laughing because I still can't get it to work...not real pee though just the figurative kind.

That video is better than the other one that I saw, probably because it was sped up to counteract the effects of the time dilation. One thing though, I'm not much of a PvPer, but I seem to recall that moving was your best asset in PvP, unless it doesn't matter for ships that size. I didn't see much movement of the ships in the video.

Ya once your ships reach a certain size it doesn't really matter because pretty much anything over a battleship doesn't is to big and to slow. Also Orbiting is actually dangerous in capital fights because you want to stay in range for support sometimes you want to switch mods from damage to tank and vice versa if you orbit you can bump lose remote repair ranges, and access to fitting bays.

It is more important for subcapitals though. If you think of the ship size not as the physical size, but imagine a sphere that encompasses the whole ship. That is technically your "size" in space called signature radius. Basically the smaller you get and the faster you go your signiture shrinks to*. Allowing you to evade damage from missiles, and be harder to score direct hits on (those glancing off armor blows) from turrets (this is true on all weapon types, and the benefit is amplified as weaponsizes directed at you increase)

*Certain mods like shield and micro warpdrives can increase your signiture radius...the Drake Battlecruiser can be fit to be larger than Dreadnaughts (Capitals) despite being 2 hull sizes smaller...and no there is no benefit to doing that unless you want to be hit hard by weapons 2 times larger than your ship class.

What RDM said. In less technical terms, movement is your friend because it makes you harder to hit/land direct blows on. Unless you're moving directly at the firing ship, in which case it does nothing.

This is particularly important because bigger guns are slower, so it might be really hard for them to hit something like a Frigate. They're just too small/fast for the aiming speed of the big guns (which could take them out in one shot if they WERE hit).

But when you get THAT large, movement doesn't matter. You're just going to be hit - that's all there is to it. And since there are no larger ships from Titans, it's not like you're trying to avoid larger guns.

Ya I forgot to mention that. Flying straight at something no matter how big or how small will turn you into space dust pretty quick. Unless its missiles, missiles work with explosion radius but on a similar principle. Instead of tracking time, they have an explosion radius different size missiles explode faster or slower. Light Missiles will explode and fill their radius really quickly...these are good at hunting smaller ships...Cruise Missiles explode more slowly and are poor at hunting smaller ships because the small ship can move out of the radius fast enough to minimize damage. (again all relative to Signature size, not actual ship size as some mods can make your ship "bigger" than it actually is.)

(Just of note the Turret mechanics also apply to drones as well small drones good at tracking shooting small ships, big drones better at dealing damage vs bigger ships they can hit as smaller ships can out run drones, and be harder to track)

Well, I typically pilot Destroyers and Frigates, though I apparently lost a Ferox back before I quit a few years ago.

You would probably really enjoy faction warfare now if you are into PVP at all. Can make good ISK, and its largely Frigate/Destroyer/Crusier sized combat. Some escalations do occur though right up to capitals (just yesterday some friends had a Dread/Carrier brawl because of FW escalation).

I fly frigates like they're battleships.

Never got the hang of speed tanking. Smiley: lol

I'm not real in to PvP.

Anyone who signs into EVE Online before March 1st will get their name (real life or in-game is unknown) engraved on a real life memorial the devs are getting built. Apparently the memorial will be in honor of EVE players in general, and not the massive amount of hours lost trying to do something in-game.

We would like to, as best as we can, reflect the same beauty that you have shown us. To make you into art. To honor you in the real world as much as you have earned in the virtual. To immortalize the already immortal pilots of EVE.

To that end we are creating a monument to all EVE players whether they are currently flying or who have long docked their ships. A monument to players who are living and with us or who have sadly passed on.

While most of our monuments have, up until this point, existed in game, this one will be placed in beautiful Reykjavik harbor and be donated to the city where EVE was first born so many years ago—the northernmost capital city on Earth.

With the monument, entitled “Worlds Within a World”, we seek to honor the EVE’s developers (past and present), the volunteers, our partners and even the citizens of Reykjavik—all for the parts they play in this universe.

The monument will stand testament to the collective and manifested will of hundreds of thousands of gamers, dreamers, leaders, wingmen, pirates, betrayers, victors and defeated.

Neato! I get my space name on a monument.

(how could I get beaten to the punch with EVE news!)

Some names in game if CCP is true to their word...are going to be interesting to see. Probably good thing Icelanders don't speak as the English native language

So Chinas Server, Serenity eclipsed the big battle of B-R http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/the-49-u6u-slaughterhouse/ and Tiancity (the host) is implementing an in game monument to commemorate the largest battle in EVE history on that Server.
