On the plus side, I think I've settled on a character model. I've probably made and saved 15 or so.

Gilgamesh for me, my rl friends, and most of BG. Although sadly an ill timed camping trip will probably prevent me from playing phase 4.

How do the PS3 users get the P4 beta?

Also, because I saw this online on a newbie tips thread and thought it was worth sharing ASAP, rest exp is percentage based.

If you have 1 level of rest exp, that's 1 level, period. If you use it taking a class from 1 to 2 you just completely wasted it.

It's a great system when you consider the fact that all your classes will be different levels, so this is always useful relative to what you're doing. But you have to be careful to actually use it on the proper job.

Also, cities are not sanctuaries. Rooms in Inns, major quest hubs, and possibly player houses are.

Also, also, player housing is sort of in P4.

It would be nice if they sent that BEFORE P4 started.

I got mine this morning, If your already part of the Beta I think i can give you my code?

I was. When I tried to update the PS3 client I already have, it said it couldn't verify the version and forced me to exit. So I figure we have to download a new client using a P4 code?

I got the email announcing P4 for the PC. So worst case scenario, I just play there in the meantime. Still annoying...

Nope, just a link to the PC client.

I'm downloading that now - my login alone was sufficient to bypass the code part. But I have no clue how to access the P4 client on the PS3.

I still haven't gotten my early access code either.

The annoying part is that this is supposed to be open beta. Why the hell are they gating access to the client in the first place? It's not like this will be the launch client.

And why do I need to use a code, rather than them just checking against my PSN address (which has to be linked to my account anyway)?

Process to download the P3 client was the same as before on the PC, though, from what I can remember.

And it's still an open beta, no? You just need an SE account to access the PC client, from what I understand.

Also, I'm pretty sure there's just some elaborate prank being played on me. Called gamestop 2 weeks ago, they promised an early access key within a few days, nothing. I call them and wait 30 minutes... they hang up on me. I call back, and it's 15 minutes later, and I'm still on hold. I'm going to see if I can complain about this in a few more threads.

After telling the guy who finally answered about having already called and still not receiving my code, he just gave me one over the phone, no questions asked. Didn't even ask who I was or for purchase confirmation.

But yeah, barring some kind of exclusive pre-order bonus I really want, I won't be bothering with Gamestop pre-orders again. I'd only done one before, for Skyrim. And that was fine. Less efficient than I would have liked for the midnight pickup, but fine.

But anything that's going to involve digital access codes that Gamestop is supposed to distribute? Lol, no.
