Hearthstone babble and other random gamesFollow

The controller support and implementation of a directional dodge makes it play and feel a bit different than on PC. Plus it has couch co-op. Plus I just have to grind 2M more gold to get 100% it on PS3. Well, I have to finish buying all the stash upgrades, and buy one of every type of item from a vendor, but the 2M gold will take care of those, too.

I am going to pick up Dark Souls 2. I want it on PC, but I really don't want to wait, so PS3 it is.

Oh, and I killed Diablo and didn't get a single upgrade. That was fun.

Ok, so I started watching that review... that game looks like utter horse ****. You know, aside from the awful music and painful UI.

Weird. This is through the Battle.Net client/launcher?

I got pretty lucky in Hearthstone. One of the packs I had bought had a legendary in it, and it was one of the ones they just changed, so I was able to disenchant it for the full crafting value, basically getting me a legendary of my choosing.

I'm waiting on my copy of Dark Souls 2 to get to me. I thought it was supposed to be delivered on the day it came out, but apparently I picked the wrong shipping option so I won't get it until Thursday, which means I won't be able to get into it until Sunday. Oh well.

Nah. Worst case scenario, I just start playing draft tournaments. Those are fun anyway.

Well, the local shop hosts the tournaments so I'd assume they're more interested in selling sealed boosters

It's a good deal though -- $15 for three boosters and you almost always get at least another booster at the end. Cheaper than buying them retail at that point. Even if you didn't, you're getting ~$13 in boosters (inc tax) and paying ~$2 for five hours of playing. Allowing, of course, for the whole drafting process in what cards you go home with.

I haven't seen that but then I don't worry too much about card value anyway. I don't trade except some commons with my kid to fill some 4-in-a-deck ideas and I'm fine with my cards being game pieces rather than commodities. If someone wants to gimp his draft deck by taking value over playability, it's just more booster prizes for me at the end of the night.

Edit: I fully recognize that they can have value. I used to play Revised/Legends up into Ice Age so I'm well versed in trading/selling/ind. card sales, etc.. I'm just not interested in that meta-game aspect of it any longer.

Unless the owner is waving it around in people's faces, I don't really see the issue. And if you open your assigned booster and want to take the most valuable card, why shouldn't you? That was your booster. Take whatever you want out of there. Anywho, I haven't seen any drama in the draft tournaments I played. Last time was just standard though. Didn't come close to winning -- I pretty much just grabbed a random deck out of my box that I knew would be legal. I broke into the upper 50 percentile so I had that much going for me.

I only brought up drafting as a relatively cheap way to enjoy a night out playing without investing an assload in cards. Frankly, I just do it for the father-son experience and for time out of the house so I don't seriously care if I do poorly.

I got drunk one night and bought 1000 (crappy) bulk magic cards off ebay. I had played it a long while back but hadn't for awhile... anyway long story short, I've been playing it again too - though I haven't dared go out to play people who actually care about being awesome, just a friend of mine, we make decks out of my crummy cards and have a generally fun time.

Was that her subtle way of telling you she was already involved with someone, so you can stop trying?
