I salute you in that endeavor, lol.

Today I played Dark Souls from character creation through just reaching the Undead Parish. Got the Drake Sword, a full set of chainmail, heater shield. Need to farm a quick 1.4k souls for Heal, since I have my Faith up to 12 now.

Had 9 humanity which I lost on my first "real" death (as in, first time failing to recover my souls). That kinda hurt, since now I'll get lower drops.

The stupid poison rats are making this part super annoying, though. I really need to find a bonfire in the Parish area that lets me avoid them. It looks like there's one right past the gate that area lets out from (the ladder from the burg), but I haven't figured out how to open it yet.

I'm gonna go ahead and ask this - that big figure with the hammer looking thing in the church is probably going to murder me if I wander in there, right?

Bait the wyvern down with an arrow shot. When he lands run past him and use the bonfire in the room behind where he perches. Open the gate, waltz into the parish and no more poison rat under the bridge runs for you.

Also the big dude in the parish is not too bad. Be patient let him do his big slow attack and then circle around and stab at him. Also there is a bonfire to the right of there down that walkway with the stone arches. Andre can upgrade your weapons and is a very useful guy throughout the game. Oh and behind that big guy in the parish is a fire keeper soul. take the elavator in the parish on the left back down to the firelink shrine and use it to buff you estus flask to +1 the firekeeper is right down the stairs underneath the bonefire and she can hook you up. You can get it to +7 eventually.

Feel free to PM me or ask here for any other tips if you get stuck I have a pretty good feel for the game after 400 hours lol.

Woo hoo, got the bonfire, thanks.

Then I got swarmed on the second floor of the church and they took me out. Smiley: lol

That's normal. The caster doesn't respawn. Once he's dead, I find pulling the hollows down the hallway to be the easiest way to deal with them.

So how would you recommend bringing about the death part?

You can angle those casters most of the time so that using a corner of the wall or a pillar they will not be able to shoot you but you can still shoot them in target reticle zoom. Also when you hit them in the head it stuns them and prevents casting. :)

Also Joph I thought Call of Juarez was pretty fun as well. I still need to finish it though.

Falling into the trap with MGR:R that I do with a lot of other games, where instead of progressing the story, I'll rerun stuff I've done for better stage scores and points to buy customizations. I'll burn myself out farming the first couple story chapters and never finish the game. At least I have this sweet Gray Fox suit, though, right?

I can't decide what I want to play. Huge steam library, growing PS3 library (between the physical games and the PSPlus games). And of course I have this new Mass Effect save...

#firstworldproblems

I was playing Dragon's Dogma, but I'm suspecting it's not going to be getting good. Or at least, not soon enough that I want to play it. Dark Souls is fun, but I can't play it for long periods. Normally just try and make a little progress, then move on.

I still have to go back to The Last of Us... and I'm probably like 3/4 of my way through my first Beyond Two Souls playthrough...

You can be entertained as they play through the game for you with delightful color commentary.

I finished Recettear. That was kinda fun OCD obsession for a few days. Think I might play MGR next but not sure.

What the hell is happening

I watched through the first two videos. Found their commentary too annoying.

Pretty much how every scene went:

Game tells them what to do, they talk and joke the whole time.
They proceed to ***** about how the game hasn't told them what to do and they run around taking 10 minutes to finish a 1 minute segment.

I got to the beginning of the third video and had to stop watching.

I think I'm pretty close to the end of the game anyway. :P I mean, it's hard to tell, because it's possible there are a bunch of timeline points I could flash back to, but things seem pretty cluttered at this point.

I'm JUST at the part where they are captured in... was it Kazakhstan?

Doing the SR IV free weekend thing. So far the super-matrix powers thing seems fun. I mean honestly I have been driving various cars to various canned mission in these types of games fo evah. Super jumping and sprinting seems like a nice change of pace thus far, reminds me a bit of Infamous as well. I'm not to far in yet though, bout 3 hours with a few side missions getting a feel for things.

I've now moved to FFXIV as main, with WildStar on radar.
Aion still on "play every now and then", but now in 2nd place.

It seems like FFXIV added some daily quests and such in the newest patch, in the 40s. If they keep up that trend and extend quests to lower levels, creating leveling pathways, it might be really solid.

I might go ahead and resub for a month to see what it's like now.

But, yeah, Wildstar is the big MMO on my radar. Followed by EQN, but that's far from now.

For single player titles, the only thing I'm really waiting on is DA:I (and I'm VERY impatient). I suppose Lightning Returns, too, but I still need to play FFXIII-2.

Once the next Mass Effect and KH3 get real launch dates, I'll be excited for them, too.
