Came out today. I played the demo, which felt a lot like a mix between Fable and Skyrim. It wasn't quite as open-world as Skyrim, but still pretty open, and with a cartoon-ish art style reminiscent of WoW/Fable.

The largest appeal is the class system, however. You have a talent tree system, with the three trees being, essentially, Warrior/Rogue/Mage. You can be a pure one of any of the three, and you get a class assigned based on that. But if you start putting points into other trees as a hybrid, then you unlock a new class based on how you've spent them. It's pretty cool. And you can switch between any of your unlocked classes, which is handy since a lot of them have unique bonuses.

The big bonus to playing the demo is that if you decide you like it, then all the stuff you earned carries over to the main game if you buy it. So you don't have to do the tutorial section again.

Haven't bought it yet, but I think I might, and I was seeing if anyone else was going to.

Oh, and playing through the demo also unlocks some items for Mass Effect 3.

I saw a 25% off deal and was thinking about it but the deal was only for UK customers so I didn't. I suppose by the time I'm tired of Skyrim, it'll be on sale for the poor Americans.

I played the demo. I'll probably pick it up once it's under thirty bucks. The same goes for FFXIII-2.

I picked it up. It's pretty fun; art direction was done by Todd McFarlane, and RA Salvatore had a hand in creating the world it takes place in. Ken Rolston was part of it too.

Anyway, the plot is nothing innovative. In fact, there isn't really any facet of the game that really feels original. That said, it does what it aims to do, and does it very well. Combat is fun, and I know I'll play through it at least a couple times to play with different combat styles. The side-quests are pretty standard filler, and the main story isn't terribly engaging, but it holds itself together well enough to keep you playing.

If heavily story-driven games are what you're into, you might not care for it, but if you are looking for some fun button smashing dungeon grinds with lots of loot upgrades, I'd pick it up. I'll get enough enjoyment out of it to justify the full purchase price, but I can see waiting for it to be < $40.

My biggest disappointment is with the game booklet. Getting a new game and reading the booklet cover-to-cover has always been one of my favorite rituals, and this booklet is literally just a tri-folded sheet. Also kind of bummed there was no pre-order edition with a Todd McFarlane artbook. That would have been cool.

I'm playing as a sneakystabby character with some magic. Stealthing around is cool and all but a good portion of the time, you can't sneak behind targets and just have to engage them in open combat. Not a huge deal because the combat is fun, but it makes the stealth talents feel a little underutilized.

In the process of joining the equivalent to a Thieves Guild.

So tempted to buy this game... Urge will probably overcome my good sense to wait for a Steam sale by this weekend I imagine.

Faeblades and chakrams are awesome. They're even better when you use both at the same time!

I'm really having a blast so far. The combat is fantastic.

It's nice if you can get it at a discount but even at 60$ it's well worth the price.

I don't have a problem with dropping $60 for a game I want, but the problem is that doing so is far too often outside my capabilities now. :(

Yeah, I COULD drop that 60$. Of course, I could also end up unable to pay my rent in May. ;)

I just keep a large enough backlog that I can afford to wait for a good sale 'cause I've enough other stuff to do.

Playing the demo has been enjoyable though. I really like the art styles. Camera was ridiculously sensitive (at least with my Razer Naga). Turned it all the way down, lol.

I use a Naga too, and I didn't have a problem with it. Weird.

But yeah, the art style is cool. With the game they really went for an over the top feel, which I feel like translated pretty well.

Glad I picked it up. I really enjoy seeing my robe wearing wizard with grey hair and a beard casting lightning bolts from a distance, and then when the monsters get close - HUGE ******* HAMMER TO THE FACE.
