Emails with instructions on how to get your Steam Key for that free Xcom Enemy Unknown for voting have been sent out. And it works (you get a key, not a redeemable link or anything).

You also can apparently get an 80% off coupon for Enemy Within if you play the game and unlock the "And So it begins" achievement. Not sure how that will work if you already played the game and unlocked it a year ago.

I got the key just to give to my brother... but I probably would be interested in the 80% off Enemy Within if I can get it.

Edit:
Also, Shaowstrike, if you didn't see it:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=22&mid=1328146533263431368&h=50&p=85#4242

I've got a bunch of unused keys waiting to be claimed.

Shadows of Mordor is $12 off today.

I really want to grab it. I also know that whatever gametime I have now should probably go into my replay of DAO/2 for DAI's release in a month. And then obviously I'll be playing DAI, and not SoM.

So I might as well wait. Sorry, retail therapy.

I picked it up for PS4 and I'll say that it's definitely worth the money. If you enjoyed the combat in the Batman: Arkham games then you'll enjoy this.

I've been playing Shadow of Mordor on PC.

I did not love it at first. But it has these moments of brilliance. That brilliance is the Nemesis system of course. I'll always remember my first: Zathra the Slaughter. When I was still getting the hang of the system I did a bow challenge before I knew what I was doing and got smoked. It promoted Zathra to captain. Well then he starts hunting me. Showing up at random times 2-3 shotting me with a poison crossbow.

He got all of these crazy boosts and before you know it he is a warchief gaurd elite captain and just about the most dangerous guy for me to run into with no fears and only 2 vulnerabilities. First time I finally smoked him I was so damn happy. I did not get his head though, so he comes back as Zathra the Scarred. I kind of look forward to seeing him now. We are like old enemies that that respect each other now.

He is a survivor though. He is still on the first map and I let him live after I went to the second map. I may go dominate him now that I have that power and make him my ****** officially before I finish the last story missions. Smiley: sly

Good:
Nemesis System
Great Graphics
Smooth Combat
Lots of neat powers

Bad:
FoV is too tight. Can't be adjusted...
Combat gets crazy spammy sometimes. Going to finally break my gamepad it feels like.
Power balancing: You start out too weak and get worked over, to the point of frustration at times.
But if you do the collecting and side missions on the first map by the time you leave it you are THE DEATH GOD.
I've been nigh invincible the entire time on the second map which is like 50% of the game. There is still some challenge and killing with a variety of ways
is fun but yeah if you go on a completionist streak on the first map you will unlock all the skills. You don't have to choose, you get everything or
dang near it halfway through the game.

You've probably received notification of this if you did the free XCom EU offer upthread, but if you're signed up for Playfire and get the Steam achievement for completing the EU tutorial, Playfire will send you an 80% off voucher for Enemy Within. That's not a bad deal since sales on EW seem to be stuck in the 60-66% range.

Also Steam is going to have a bunch of games F2P this weekend including XCOM, so if you're good/bored/NEET you can probably finish the game in two days.

I got my 80% voucher this morning. That puts it at 6 bucks I think. I'll probably buy it. It's only good til the 24th if I remember right. I doubt it will go cheaper unless list drops to 20 dollars.

I gave my free Xcom key to my brother as I already owned it on Steam. I take free stuff even if I already own it just because.

Edit: It's actually good til the 31st.

So, anyone want to test out if the 80% off Enemy Within voucher is a one time use? I'm guessing, but there is always that chance.

It appears that Steam may be suspending accounts that filed false tax information in the Steam Community Market to bypass the 200 item limit.

Hopefully none of you guys did that.

Can't really blame them since it's just a hassle for Steam then when they need to deal with the IRS.

I gave legitimate information but then Steam doesn't have a reporting liability until you reach $20,000 in sales. That's a lot of 8¢ cards.
Quote:
Please note that we are not required to report this information or information about your sales to the IRS under section 6050W of the Internal Revenue Code unless you engage in more than 200 sales in a single calendar year AND the gross sales proceeds from those sales exceeds $20,000 in a single calendar year.

If you have not got DS2 yet you should do that. It's not really hard. It's pretty much an unforgettable experience. I can help you if you run into trouble. Smiley: flowers

You can still add it to your account. But would they honor the "purchase" once they get more? (I'm guessing, "No.")
