Rift and Portal are a bit of a ripoff, I got them both for free. Portal 2 is a deal though, I knew I should have held out on that one, but when I paid $14.95 a couple months back it seemed like such a good price.

The fact that they've given Portal out for free as a promotion a few times in no way makes it a "rip off" for $2.50. It's a fantastic game for $2.50 and would be more higher prices than that.

Rift on the other hand might be a rip-off, I dunno.

I checked my wishlist and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is $19.99. Just found out that my free gift for checking my Steam Inventory was a free gift pass for Portal 2. Maybe now I can finally complete that "Hug 3 people on your friends list" achievement. Smiley: lol

Well, you can trade your coupon to someone else for another coupon, lol. I got myself a -25% valve and a -50% rockstar but I don't see myself using them ever.

50% off a Valve game here. The funny thing is if you take a look at the Valve section of the store, all of them are already 50% off. That could make for cheap game if I had any interest in buying any of the games that I don't already own.

They also expire March 1st, which seems rather quick. Makes me wonder if they have something slated for a spring release and they don't want to cut into their profits on it.

Either way, getting a coupon feels awful since you're guaranteed that the game you want will be on sale anyway. I got a Valve 50% off which is useless since I own nearly the entire catalog.

While we're on the subject of Valve, the TF2 Christmas event is going on right now. There is a new CP map, a new set of gear for Engineer and Pyro, and for the first week, double droprates. I've picked up all sorts of good loot the last couple of days.

Did an objective from Orcs Must Die, and Steam gifted me.. a non-tradable Portal 2 cosmetic item which I already own. I can do literally nothing with it.

Did the Orcs Must Die objective, and got a free game. Not bad.

The initial gift I got was a lump of coal, though. As tempting as it is to save them up for the entries into the contest (the grand prize is literally every flipping game on Steam) it makes more sense to just combine 7 into a non-coal prize.
