So we finally said screw it and hooked the PS3 up with a temporary HDMI cable salvaged from the media center PC, since I am borrowing its keyboard anyway and it's pretty much useless until my new keyboard comes in. (Old one had keys suddenly stop working, as cheap $20 keyboards are wont to do. I really need to suck it up and pay for a heavy duty mechanical keyboard. Someday.)
Anyway, so I somehow completely ignored the quickstart guide but managed to figure out everything on my own more or less anyway. Made a PSN account, and got logged into Home.
And then promptly spent two hours wandering around the shopping mall and related areas.
It's one of the most cleanly done virtual worlds I think I've seen (and I've seen more virtual worlds than I have MMORPGs by a factor of ten.)
Actual quote: "Oh look there's a Ferris wheel! I want to ride the Ferris wheel - wtf TURKEYS?!"
Cute little turkeys wandering around the wooden dock below the Ferris wheel...
All in all, not bad. Two hours of outright entertainment tonight, and I haven't even unwrapped Uncharted 3 yet.
So, my fellow ZAMians, what should be my next step on this grand PS3 adventure? I need mentoring and guidance, or else I'm going to be riding the Ferris wheel and feeding the turkeys for the next week.
