Just ignore talk about Big P and choose every other option. If I remember correctly, you should get dialog concerning hunting down Alduin that will eventually lead you to Whiterun. In my game, I picked up the next step from Big P immediately after defeating Alduin.

I found a glitched Ancient dragon that is just is stuck to the ground and frozen in place. No matter how much damage I do to it, it won't die. I've been using a Bound Battle Axe to power level my Conjuration and Two Handed skills. This happened not long after I capped Alteration by Enchanting a set of a gear to cast for free and casting Detect Undead around a corner from a bunch of Undead guys. So far I'm at level 64 with Block, Light Armor, Speech, Alteration, Enchanting, and Smithing at 100, with One Handed, Destruction, Sneak, and Lockpicking at 80+.

So I killed this Frost Dragon. But it didn't die. It died, but it didn't die. The skin burned off, I got the "You absorbed a dragon soul blah blah blah" message, but it continued to attack. As a skeleton dragon. That was pretty awesome.

Is anyone else tired of the arrow in the knee meme? Especially now that CAD has made an unfunny comic about it?

People still read that awful strip?

The miscarriage story line was the final straw for me.

I stopped just before their wedding. Just wasn't doing anything for me. I occasionally stop by to check out his sillies, though.

I'm just so sick of the two gamers on a couch format of webcomics.

Penny Arcade gets an exception, since they're just awesome. Mostly Tycho.

They don't even try to make cohesive story lines (outside of the rare series like they just finished). They normally use their comics to highlight flaws or noteworthy aspects of games or the industry. It's less about playing games.

Plus, they are old enough that they'd deserve a pass even if they did follow that trend.

I finished off the Imperial quest arc. Overall it wasn't bad...could have been a lot worse. The story wasn't especially deep or evocative but it wasn't poorly done either. I'd rather have an arc that is a little shallow than one that is so horribly done and nonsensical you feel like you're playing the chump for the amusement of the developers.

My biggest gripe with the whole line of quests was that it was mostly a bunch of this:

O hai! Glad you decided to join us! Now go clear out this keep so we can garrison it.
Nice job at the keep! We've sent our garrison forces there. Now go clear out this other keep so we can garrison it.
Welcome back! You're quite the little keep-clearer! Now meet up with the men and go clear out this keep so we can garrison it...
Good to see you again! Keep. Clear. Garrison. Go.
Hey...men at keep meet clear garrison.
Now that you've cleared every keep in Skyrim, we need you to climb the highest mountain in search of the lost relic of...lol just kidding. There's another keep. Get to it.

When I got to the final "keep" in the quest series, I wasted a ton of time clearing wave after wave after wave of enemy troops before I realized that the event won't progress unless you move beyond where the enemy troops are spawning, and they respawn fast. I would end up running through a pack of baddies and pewpewing them from the other side just to try and keep them from respawning. In all the confusion, I also skewered a dozen or so of my allies and put General Tulius on his *** a half dozen or so times.

Now that all that is over with, I reckon I'll clear out all the miscellaneous quests in my log while I figure out which 'guild' I want to join next.

I got a quest to retrieve a crown after clearing my first keep. Is that one of the keep-clearing references? I haven't done it yet.

No, that's actually a dungeon thrown in early to give you hope for the series. The reality doesn't settle in until after you've gotten the crown. I think that if I had spent more time in Windhelm getting acquainted with 'the other side of the story' I might have found the quest line a little more compelling. As it was, I find that I preferred the mage quest line in terms of story.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. The Dark Brotherhood is the best quest line in this game. Hands down. No competition.

Not to say I did not enjoy the other guilds and main quest line. But the Darkbroho just kicked it up a notch in epicness and pacing.

I've heard good things about it but I've decided to save that one for last. I reckon I'll finish everything (including the main story arc) and then hit up the DB for gits and shiggles.

I think so too. My only complaint is (double spoiler warning, don't read if you haven't done the brotherhood)killing the emperor as no influence on the civil war. I did the brotherhood before joining the stormcloak and they never mentioned at any time during the civil war story line that the leader of the empire we're fighting just got killed. Some random people mention it when you walk by but Ulfric, the leader of the rebellion, got no clue. It's like it never happened.

Sometimes, that really does irritate me. For instance, how only Balgruuf has ANY clue that you are dragonborn. Why the hell don't I use that as a bartering chip for the other jarls--it's stupid. Especially when you consider a place like Markarth. F*** you Jarl Igmund, throwing me in jail. Never would have done it if you had known I was dragonborn, and then I wouldn't have had to run all over town trying to figure out what was going on.

I just don't get why I can come in to seek an audience with the jarls, get stopped by the guard who asks why I'm there, talk about dragons, yet never once use my ace in the hole. >:(

Really, the awkward part is that, although you find out you are dragonborn SUPER early in the storyline, it's still fully optional. You can do every other storyline without ever finding out your destiny. But I'm not asking for much--just give me "dragonborn" options for after I find out.

The other really annoying one? The fact that everyone seems to know I'm in the Thieves guild. It drives me INSANE when a guard comments on it. I imagine the DB has a similar one.

Actually, I never had anyone talk about the DB. And the only time I had people talk about the thieves guild was when I was wearing some of the thieves' guild clothes (I think even a single piece is good enough).

Some guard said something to me along the line of "I hope it's not true what I heard about you and the Dark brotherhood" but that's about it.

I've definitely had it said to me while not wearing Thieves guild armor. Could've been a glitch though.

I think for this very reason, I will never touch enchanting in Skyrim again on another character. Most monsters in Skyrim just never reach that insane level of strength that would require enchanting. Also, it saves me 11 perks or something >.>

You can always use enchanting in a less OP way. Instead of making your major spells schools free, settle with making 4 schools 50% (or something) with increased mana regen, for example.

I do hate that the second enchant perk can't be used for special gear, though. If there were unenchanted pieces with the same model, it might be a different story, though.
