There's a hidden bonfire near the second bell. The spider thingy npc there can upgrade your flask. Of course you will need to go through blight town again but if you enter by the valley of drakes it's only a few minutes walk from firelink shrine.

The closest bonfire that I could find was just outside the hill, down just past the weird wooden elevator-type thing. The only other area I thought to explore (but didn't) was the area just below the room with the second bell; didn't want to risk the fall damage killing me right after getting 20k souls from Quelaag.

Where is this hidden bonfire?

Go down the stairs where you ring the bell and just before the entrance to the demon ruins on your right there's a hidden passage (just hit the wall a few times).

Also, there's an egg guy after you break the wall.

Don't attack him.

He's a vendor.

You will need to answer yes to his question or he won't let you through and you'll need to kill him to access the bonfire.

I'm having a couple issues with this dialogue system. I've had at least two occasions now where the phrasing of the question that you're supposed to be answering left me unsure of what "yes" and "no" actually meant.

For example, the pyromancer NPC early on asks you something like:

"I could teach you pyromancy if you'd like, but perhaps it's something that you're opposed to."

I remember saying "yes", in response to the first part of the sentence, and because the affirmative response usually indicates that you're up for whatever they're asking in video games. But here "no" is the proper response, in reference to the second half of the sentence.

Thankfully, you can just ask him again.

**** Fog Ring. Was helping out a caster, and we got invaded. Dude had a fog ring on, so the caster was useless. :/

I got slaughtered by a dude wearing Fatty Armor (Smough's set), and a Painting Guardian sword.

I hate how you still get bleed damage by blocking the hits with a shield.

Yeah. Does the Blood Shield work on bleeds like the Spider Shield does on poison, or is it just a resistance boost?

I finally used my cracked red eye stones in Blight Town, at level 37. Two failed invasions, then I won one and lost one. I won with a backstab+bleed with my Iaito+10. The one I lost was to some sort of caster. I haven't played with any magic aside from pyromancy, so I don't know what spell it was but it ****** me up. It was like 5 points of light above his head, and then they all zoomed in on me and one-shot me. Smiley: lol I mistimed my roll. :(

I dunno, I don't normally use it.

Also, getting 21k souls per Forest run is nice (now that I'm level 110 >__________________>)

This is by unlocking the door near the hidden bonfire and farming the Forest Covenant NPCs, yes?

Yeah, in New Game+.

Soul rewards are tripled (from monsters, not collected as loot).

Also, New Game+ seems to remember which bonfires I kindled in the first play through, so you guys should kindle as many as you can before you move on.

I've been trying to get back to the tutorial level, but I keep ******* up on the jump to get into the tower. Smiley: lol Also, the fire is currently out, so I have to go set my bonfire somewhere other than the Blighttown swamp.

You can go back to the tutorial area? Why would you want to?

You don't really need to jump, just a roll should do it.

For the bonfire, I find the one near the Blacksmith in Undead Parish is pretty convenient.

You can fight another version of the asylum demon and get the doll to access the painted world of ariamis (or whatever it's called) There's also a few Black knight that drop decent loot. You can also trade with sparkly the crow.

That answer is obvious. To get that stupid treasure up the stupid broken staircase you couldn't get before you left.

Ideally, you want to hit up the tutorial area before Blighttown.

Joined the Chaos Covenant, just 'cause I had the Old Witch's Ring.

I'm still a bit confused on the Covenants. Not why you'd want to join one (the loots, duh), but what place they have in the game to begin with. They're not involved at all in the main story, nor are they explained very well in the game. Hell, you don't even know of their existence until you stumble over the NPCs that allow you to join them.

Well I managed to get the key, but when I tried to roll onto that ledge again, I failed and died. Moar Blighttown fun. I think I'm going to farm leeches for a while and throw ny summon sign up.

I feel the same way. They're not very well fleshed out.

The covenants are mostly for multiplayer. Some will give you a specific goal for invading and other will make it easier to co-op with people of the same covenant. If you're not into PvP or co-op, there's really no advantage in joining a covenant other than the reward. You can easily finish the game without joining any.
