I believe the DSi and the new 3DS will/works with WPA. But I do agree, especially since they discontinued support/manufacturing the usb device, and it barely works/barely has ever worked as it is.

As far as hatching eggs, I simply hatch 5 at a time while watching tv or something, I grab all the ones with the right nature and what not and go into a battle with a friend of mine, we tend to iv at the same time, if you're not busy it really doesn't take too much time nor does having your ds sitting beside you while a buddy does his work conflict with too much. dsi doesnt work with it either(i own one and have to change my settings to wep every time i wanna get on with it) and i somehow doubt 3ds will either

Don't let her get any fire pokemon, or pokemon that can learn fire type moves. Remember the forest!

But, but, but...

CHARMANDER CHAR is one of the most endearing things you'll ever hear! And their dedication will melt your heart!

...

Okay, who else cried during the episode where Damien abandons his Charmander?

...

And the one where Ash tries to leave Pikachu with the wild group of them?

...

And the first movie, where Pikachu starts crying?

...

You know, it's amazing I didn't develop abandonment issues after watching that show.

Even though the DSi supports WPA for it's basic internet functions (pretty sure it does), it still couldn't use non-WEP security when connecting online with existing games for the DS. I wonder if the 3DS will be the same way when trying to play your Nintendo DS games on it... (probably, if the pattern holds).

That's funny because she chose the fire pig starter XD

We have a running joke between us now based on when that incident happened. She told me, "I didn't think it would jump that far(referring to the fire)" now any time she screws something up I tell her "You didn't think it would jump that far" and she either laughs are hits me.

Check out Global Link. There is a GL page that will become available on March 30th. You have to create an account on the official pokemon page.

This sounds pretty cool. I'm not sure of all the details yet, sounds like you can transfer pokemon onto this site to be able to do stuff or something, I'm not quite sure. Sounds like the new pokewalker feature only it doesn't force me to work out!

That's for the "Dreamworld" in-game. Posting from my phone so I can't provide an info link at this time.

Someone on Kotaku posted that awhile ago, and this was the picture I made based on the Spoink entry.

Also wanted to add that the Litwick entry for Pokemon Black is just as bad:

Quote:
Litwick shines a light that absorbs the life energy of people and Pokémon, which becomes the fuel that it burns.

So even if you catch one it still kills you in the end.

I picked White--won't get to play until later, though, since my DS is at school (and today's the last day of my break).

Not sure which starter I want though. The game seems to have a plethora of grass/water/fire types, so no need to worry like in Pearl/Diamond.

I generally always chose the grass starter, because I like grass pokemon (and Bulbasaur is clearly the greatest pokemon ever). And Snivy does look interesting. But my favorite animal is the otter... But I'm indifferent on Sea Lions, so the final evolution is kinda meh... And I'm not quite sure why it isn't Water/Fighting (which would be interesting). The contrary ability could make things very interesting... Shell Armor's crit immunity is nice too.

Tepig is cute, but I hate the way its evolutions look. And Thick Fat/Reckless aren't interesting to me.

[EDIT]

Plus, Victini means I don't need a fire starter.

Go with Smugleaf then, right before you face the first gym go to the Dreamland Lab near the town. The girl NPC there will give you a water monkey to use against the fire monkey you'll have to fight at the gym. This way you'll have all 3 types when you finally get to the 3rd gym and take the boat to Liberty Island Garden to get Victini.

I'm leaning more and more towards him...

If only my friends planned on getting it soon, then I could make them trade me an Oshawott and Tepig (who I would like to have, despite not actually wanting his evolutions. :P).

Now I'm trying to just plan out my final team (as far as the Elite Four is concerned) to see who I want more. There are some really spiffy new grass types (Cottonee, which I would have to trade for, or Petilil). Though I can get a duck or tadpole water type...

I SUCK at making decisions.

You have to fight the Elite Four twice, so plan for a team of level 50 pokemon and a level 80 team.

I have never not picked the grass starter, my friend has never not picked the fire starter, which let another friend picking the water one.

Snivy is nice but it's not even my best pokemon right now, he's only 33 and my stoutland is almost 37. Stoutland is a beast and herdier should be picked up early on. Tirtouga is coming in handy too.

I'm getting Black tomorrow, and starting with the grass thing. I have a level 5 squirtle that I'm trading from my old SoulSilver to use until I can use my Vaporeon against any fire pokemon I run into.

I've always chosen the fire starter in previous games, and I have a strong pokemon of every type at 60+ already except for grass because Leafeon is complete garbage.

If I remember reading correctly you cannot get pokemon from the older 5 games until you beat the League Champion in Black/White. After that the Pokemon Transfer system is activated by an in-game event, you can still trade pokemon between Black and White as normal though.

I was under the assumption that the Pokemon Transfer system was like Pal Park in past game, but trading was still available, like in Gen IV games.

If they removed the ability to get pokemon with HMs on a new game, I'm going to be a tad upset since some of my best pokemon had HM moves.

I'm pretty sure you can't transfer anything with an HM from an old game. :(
