I havent played this game in a long long time and I'd really like too but I'm having a problem and hopefully y'all can help me out or at least tell me if I'm out of luck.

I found EQOA (not Frontiers, the original) in a box today, I had bought it new like 7 years ago, and immediately wanted to play it. I popped it into my ps3 and even remembered my old login and password, everything was running perfectly and I couldnt believe the servers were still up. I logged in, it updated the data, authentication done, then it asked me for the KEY from the manual and I put it in but then the Key Authentication server timed out, I try again, timed out, I restart and everything goes fine again until the same spot, it times out. I think dang maybe its the KEY so I just type in AAAA, it times out.

Is that server dead and I just can't play anymore? I met my wife playing this game, I was in Balance of Tunaria the beta test guild, I really want to play, but can I?

I know a few months ago they disabled the in game payment services and that may be the problem since you would have no active subscription.

Try going through the SOE website first.

Wow, I am in your exact boat. I played EQOA about 6 years ago and quit to start playing WoW. I recently quit WoW and decided to get the PS2 down from the attic and loaded up EQOA Frontiers. I was unable to log into my account (I had forgotten my information). I contacted EQ at 1-858-537-0898 (this number is posted in one of my old manuals). The person on the other line was able to locate my old accounts and changed my password. She also told me that the account key is exactly that, a key tied to the account and not to the CD. I came home from work ready to play and was not able to log in. I was getting a DNAS error. I called EQ again, but this time they told me that I would have to contact sony. I contacted sony 1-800-345-7669 and they informed me that all was good on my end, but that they were doing server maintenance. I asked her if server maintenance was common and she said this was the first time in years that they have had to do server maintenance (WoW, blizzard does maintenance weekly, YIKES!). I will try to log in tomorrow, hopefully I was able to help you.

The REASON it is asking for they KEY and not letting you in is because, due to the security breach in May, you MUST log onto SOE.com and change your password! Once you have changed your password, and type your new password in at the login screen on your ps2/ps3, you will then be able to login!!

ALL SERVERS ARE UP AND ACTIVE!!! Just you'll only find always about 30 ppl shouting insults at each other on CLW server at all times, day and night!! Other servers, the players are usually in ZP or POS!! If you see one or two in FP, they're getting boon before they rez back after deathgate or accidental death.

So yeah, the servers are very much alive and well. Just the changing of the password for your account needs done BEFORE you can log in. This is to ensure the hacker cannot just log-in to your account and take your updated CC# info!!
It's for your privacy and protection.
