Starter Ship "Overloaded"?Follow

#1 Aug 10 2006 at 11:19 AM Rating: Decent
Recently returned to the game after over a year absence and here is my situation --

Rebel pilot, trained up to the Y-wing long probe. Not a great ship for dog fights.

So I was going to compare it to my original Z95 starter ship.

When I went to launch it I could not - it said the component were too heavy and mass was exceeded. I thought this strange since, as a starter ship, it could not be upgraded, but anyway, it was not usable.

I sent a ticket in and the CM instructed me to destroy the starter ship and ask the trainer for a new one. SO, I did destroy it and ask the trainer (I think I have the right one -- the Protocol droid in Moenia) for a new one. He would not give me one or even speak to me, because he said I was in the middle of a mission.

Is there anyway I CAN get back my Z95? Will I have to start completely over (not something I am willing to do)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check your datapad and see if you have a mission.

then maybe, check the other pilot trainers to see if you have the right one.

you could also get a z95 off a shipwright i think, that way you can put good lvl parts in it

Starter ships can be upgraded, but their mass is only 10k and by the time you're using lvl 3-4 parts, you will near the limit, maybe even reach the mass limit on your ship.

This is one of the reasons that every character that I have ever created, has awlays bought a heavy variant of the starter ship before starting piloting. The Heavy variants of the starter ships, have anywhere between 96k to 100k mass, making is usable right untill you get your hyper-maneuverable or the Special ships from the kashyyyk missions.

With this in mind, I sugest forgeting about the starter ship. The heavy variants are pilotable by Novice pilots, so you don't ever have to touch your starter ship. Go out to the nearest bazaar and take a look in the Ship Components section, under Ship Chassis and find "Z-95 (Heavy Variant)". There is usually more than one, so look through all of them and find one with the highest mass between them and buy it. It will be well worth every credit you spend.

But if you are not willing to do this, I can only suggest what MasterOfWar has said. Check your datapad for any active missions, if there are any, delete them. If you do have any, it will be in the Data tab of the datapad. You could also quit Rebel Piloting and then take it up again from the start, but I doubt you really want to do this.

I hope this helps ya out. Good luck and happy flying...

Oh, and make sure you don't get shot down by me :P
