Monster Hunter FreedomFollow

Anyone a fan of the monster hunter series? I've played a few of them, and they're kinda hit and miss (mostly miss.) I just got a copy of Freedom for the PSP from gamefly the other day, and I must say, unless you are the most die hard of die hard fans, avoid this game like the plague.

The learning curve on this sucker is inhuman. Even after downloading the instruction manual as a PDF, reading some FAQs on GameFAQs, and googling the crap out of all the questions I had, I STILL have very little clue as to how to advance. There are so many menus, different NPCs, questgivers, salesmen, cooks, crafters, weapon types, armors, items, it dosn't end! The manual does nothing to clear the fog of confusion.

It's going back to GameFly in the morning... Maybe they'll have a copy of Valkarie Profile for the PSP in.

theres what, 2 ps2 ones?

have you played them both?
i was looking at it when the first one came out, would you say even the oldest one would be worth it if i could find it cheap?

I thought there were more than 2, unless I actually played the only two there are lol. The first one for the PS2 was neat, but not the greatest game IMO. There is a lot of grinding in the MH series. You have to go out and gather materials to sell and to upgrade equipment. If you can find em cheap, get em, but if not, pass them up. They're good games, but they require a LOT of time to get anywhere.

There's only one out in the USA?

Hmm... I may have it confused with Monster Rancher then. I apparently don't know what the heck I'm talking about.

Clicky

I am totaly turned around. I'm playing Monster Hunter Freedom, I thought it was Monster Rancher, which i've played a few of. But regardless of my mistake, Monster Hunter Freedom is still a crap game.
