After recieving an Email saying I was banned for cheating, replied to get more info. Response said they do not discuss information about banned accounts over Email and gave me a phone number. Upon calling the number the CSRs had no other information other than "Banned for cheating" and an address that I needed to write to to appeal the ban.

I have no access to regular forums anymore. This is a post I made on my outfit's forums. I have no shame as I never did anything wrong on purpose and never abused any aspect of PlanetSide. Emerald / NC / Lacos. EQ2 Garborg / Runnyeye. EQ1 Garborg / Lany's.

This is the letter I sent yesterday(Wen, 27 July) along with all my System Info and logs (80 pages worth) from January on. I spent 10 bucks to send it certified.

Let me first say that I am trying to keep this letter somewhat professional, but make no mistake I am fuming hot right now. I would like to request a review of the banning of my STATION account on 7/27/2006. Account : ******

I wish I could offer some feedback about the situation that caused this action but I have no clue as what the situation was. The email response only told me banning reasons could not be discussed in email and the call to the support center only had this address to give me with no further information.

The only information that I can offer you is my SOE career. I started EQ in May 2000. It offered me much entertainment in my 4 years overseas in the Navy. I even invested in Sony stock which I still own today. When I returned stateside it offered me an opportunity to go to the Fan Faire this year, which I joined immensely. There I was given a copy of Planetside, which was fun during slow times on EQ2. I wish I never gotten it now.

There is no explanation for your banning of my account as far as I’m concerned. I have never purposefully hacked any SOE game. The only programs I run along side PS is Team Speak and TS Overlay, www.teamspeakoverlay.com/

I implore you to review the banning on my account. I ask you to please contact me with any questions or information. I am attaching printouts of my System Information screen. What ever you need to do to fix this I suggest you expedite it right now. This is an outrage to do to such a dedicated customer. Why did this happen??

And this is something I wrote up today while freaking out, in the first letter I did not mention any of this and am now regetting it as the more I think about it, it is most probable this was the cause. But with no information of why the action was taken I did not want to offer any information to justify thier actions against my account. For all I know it was caused by using TeamSpeak Overlay.

I went to the Sony Fan Faire this year. It was the first time, since starting EQ1 in 2000, that I was living in the US. I began my SOE gaming career while living overseas in the Navy. When I got off active duty I decided to build myself a present for surviving the 6 years active duty and built:

DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR (BIOS 06/23/2005)
AMD Opteron 180
4x 512 OCZ Gold Ed PC-4000
2x GF 6800 Ultra OC 256mb - SLI on
SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS
3x WD Raptor 74 GB SATA150 ( WD740GD )
1x WD Caviar SE16 SATA300 320 GB ( WD3200KS )
OCZ Powerstream 520w
Asus IDE DVD-ROM (DVD-E616A)
Shuttle IDE DVD Burner (CR40)
Windows XP Professional x64

At the Fan Faire I was given a copy of PlanetSide and added it to my Station account and tried the game. I liked the game a lot as I was a long fan of MMOs and a Battlefield2 fan. I played quite a bit when I first started by lost a little interest and played during slow times on EQ2, which I been currently playing. Now as to the current situation.

I never understood the post and complaints of Dual Core users and Planetside as I never had issues with my rig since starting. I never had any issues with game speed fluctuation until early July. I was in Japan for a month for the Naval Reserves and took some time to do maintenance on my machine when I got home 7-8JUL2006. I updated my video drivers, topped off the water in the cooling system, and I flashed a new motherboard BIOS to (4/6/2006).

us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bios_download_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=3449&CATEGORY_TYPE=LP&STATUS_FLAG=A&SITE=NA

Major Reasons of Change:
1 . Add CPU temperature calibration option.
2 . Fix ps2 mouse fail when ps2 kb not present.
3 . Fix s1/s3 temp error after resume.
4 . Fix startup VID option fail.
5 . Fix C 'n'O.5 multiplier not working with Opteron CPU.
6 . Fix day of month alarm can not set as 0 for every day usage.
7 . Fix NF4-D model display error if SATA3/4 is disabled.
8 . Fix ATI X1000 series logo error.
9 . Change FSB option to keyIn method.
10 . Change 3114 ROM to 5.2.1.6
11 . Change NV RAID ROM to 5.50
12 . Change memtest86+ to 1.65
13 . Synchronize DRAM related code with Expert and Venus.
14. Remove Write CAS latency item and replace it by Odd Divisor Select.
15 . Add support for SST 49LF040B LPC flash ROM.

I don’t usually update anything that is not broke unless it is a feature or enhancement I would like. The update to the MEMTEST86 was very nice as I had some crash issues to RAM and the mention of an Opteron fix was a plus. Two days after the flash is when I first noticed an issue. I was logged into EQ2 for about 6 hours when the game started to get stutters and eventually locked up. I loaded up PlanetSide and notice the character screen was twitching. Once logged in a realized that the Dual Core issue just became a real problem for me. My character ran fast… way too fast to play. I told the guys in my TeamSpeak from the outfit what was going on. Joined the outfit squad and showed them on the map of my speed and then logged off to investigate. I was not logged in more than 3-4 minutes. I logged back into EQ2 to see if any other game was affected. There was a little stutter in my character’s step but in no way was the game affected like PlanetSide. I logged into BF2, EQ1, WoW, no issues with speed on any of them. I rebooted the machine logged back into PlanetSide and everything was fine and back to normal. The next day same thing, speed up again after being logged on 6+ hours, reboot and back to normal.

At this point started to be concerned, I remember when setting up my machine in January there was a patch from AMD for Dual Core processors with Cool’N’Quite that I had installed. I figured that possibly when I updated the BIOS it had affected this processor driver. I uninstalled then reinstalled the Cool’n’Quite drivers from the AMD site. Again 6+ hours, needed to reboot. I started trying loading other drivers and programs to fix this from the Opteron page with no luck. www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9033,00.html

I was researching forums looking for a fix, and then having to be online for 6+ hours to know if I had a good fix. After a few days, 4-5? I finally stumbled on this driver www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/Setup.exe

AMD Dual-Core Optimizer - The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core or multiple processor systems.

It is listed on the AMD site under the 64 X2 driver’s page, www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html
I did not find it till a few days after this started because it is not listed on my CPU’s drivers list at all. This all occurred the first week I was home from Japan, around 7-14 July 2006.

I wish I never played PlanetSide. I wish I never loaded this bugged piece of crap on my PC. I wish I had not lost my EQ1 character of 6 years to some desk jockey’s hard-on to do the right thing without due diligence. I feel like I have been just wrongly accused of being a pedophile because of some ***** up in a spam email filter. I am sick to my stomach. Think how you would feel if you did nothing wrong and all you see on the forums is hate for you. I never willing have done anything to cheat PlanetSide. This is very serious. I only run 2 programs alongside PS. TeamSpeak and TeamSpeak Overlay.

I can not explain the hurt and betrayal I feel right now. To all those f***ing script kiddies who play fodderside and hack this game. F*** YOU… these bans were a reaction to you. To Sony, get your f***ing heads out of your asses. I have NEVER done anything to deserve this. To you board warriors cheering on the witch-hunt, I too am glad hackers are getting banned, just hope you don’t get tossed in the trash like I did. F*** PlanetSide I want my EQ accounts back. I never would have touched this POS game if you DEVs were going to pull this s***. FIX YOUR GAME. I pray my appeal works. I hope I can sleep tonight. This is a nightmare and I don’t wish it on my worst enemy.

I was affected my Dual Core PlanetSide BUG, never abused it and fought to fix it. For that I lost everything I worked on in 6 years on Sony’s games.

The implication that I hack is physically sickening to me, I work in a secure job field and I swear to god I hope this incident has no negative impact on my future career.

Just got called at my house. Unbanned, after a week. No further information to reason. Staying away from PS until I get one.

As far as why this was realeted to SWG. My STATION account was banned, including ever SOE game I had on it, includung SWG.

Whats the point in complaining about PlantSide on the SWG forum? This forum is for SWG, go to a Plantside forum or the Cross Game forum, heres the link.

Try reading all of the post. He said it was PS that caused ALL of his SOE accounts including SWG (this forum) to be banned. He was mearly warning us to stay away from PS to protect our SWG accounts.

You get it now?
