quest exp.

gives you a reason to do quests when you dont need the money/item reward.

jedi not an alpha class, thats another good thing.

but wouldnt you want it to be? it gives you a sense of importance and greatness, hard work should always be paid off and if you work hard to become jedi then you deserve to be important, oh and master i sometimes get lost listening to your diverse opinions and mixed expressions

well now you don't have a dozen people doing the same quest at the same time. then again seeing a dozen people at one time is allmost a quest in it self.

i have to agree with sadeous on this one. the fact that pre NGE becoming a Jedi was Very Hard was one of the cool and diffrent things about SWG that attracted me in the first place.

no i really dont want an aplha class back, ive always been rabidly anti alpha class.

prenge it wasnt hard, just time cinsuming.
unless you count throwing nades as being hard, wehich is what most people did till they nerfed the combat exp trade for everyone.

maybe it wouldnt be so bad if there was an alpha version for every class, that way you dont have everyone running around as the same class

The ONLY positive element I saw from the NGE was the quest-based XP. Other than that, it was another set of bad ideas (pseudo-first-person shooter style, the Nine Iconic/StarWarsy Professions) on top of some other VERY bad ideas (converting the underlying game mechanic from an even playing field to a system that implemented level-based damage multipliers -- along with the despicable changeover of creatures from objects with individualized stats for each species to generic stats by level... a CL-65 Boar Wolf = a CL-65 Enraged Reptilian Flyer = a CL-65 Urnsori's = a CL-65 Gaping Spider Hunter -- egad, no poison! Awful!).

Gah... if only the devs had the sense to concentrate on squelching the bugs from the original system while building all that snazzy new content from Kashyyyk and Mustafar for the PRE-CU SWG, what a game we would have had....

But then, if "If Only's" were candy and nuts, we could have enough to have Christmas every day of the year.

I'd rather not have Jedi in the game, but then again I'm only trying to follow canon here!

About the only good thing is that my wife isn't giving me a hard time about playing video games so much oh that and the extra $15 a month that was freed up.

Seriously the NGE is a complete and total abomination. Not a single aspect of it, from my perspective, is positive. Personally, I hate having to do quests to level. Always found that very confining. Would much rather grind in a group. That being said allowing other players to grind via quest doesn't bother me so long as grinding remains a viable alternative to quests.
