Thinking of coming back.Follow

I've been seriously contemplating coming back to EQOA... in fact, I've been thinking about it for years now and I probably should've came back long ago. I quit EQOA when FFXI came out and I migrated to FFXI and left my Monk and Warrior behind (both which I really miss). Had I not found the Beastmaster job on FFXI, I'd have went back to EQOA long ago. But my love of playing Beastmaster kept me in FFXI. Well, I've had my fill of Beastmaster after leveling two of them and there's really nothing left in FFXI for me.

There're a couple of things that concern me...

How is the game doing? Is it still kicking steadily? If I come back, I'm not going to be greeted with the server shutting down in 2 or 3 months am I?

Also... I have my original EQOA disc, but I've somehow lost my Frontiers disc. If I were to come back, could I use my EQOA disc and just buy a new Frontiers disc? Or would I have to buy both EQOA and Frontiers?

I would really love to come back to the game. I'm either going back to FFXI or EQOA, but I'd really prefer EQOA. But the game has been out for a long time and I'd hate to come back, get a new character to 40 or so and then have the servers shut down on me.

Thanks for any info offered.

I just came back after a being away for a long time
1 no just pick up another Frontiers copy no need to get the other only hard to comeby in stores the best place to get it is Station.com
2 the game isn't as livly as once was but still has quite a few players alot comming back and new ones every day it seems alot of people are tired of FF11( i'm one of them :P)
3 I"m on FH server it seems to be one of the best i have created toons on almost every server to see if the avg level was differn't and i've seen more lower toons on FH then the others
4 it's harder to find people then it once was you will have some spots all to your self if you create toons in certain areas Fayspire being almost a ghost town anymore.

I would come back if I was you alot somestuff has changed and it seems like the game is starting to get a second breath from all the stuff i've been ready for the past few weeks and it may just become a cult classic for ps2 owners I have EQ2 and i still love being able to jump on to this world understand For your first 20 levels in somecases you may solo for the most but after that finding a party should be pretty easy and don't worry about them droping the server they still make updates and stuff still goes on I think as long as people play it'll stay Since they haven't merge any servers the game still has to have a solid player base

Excellent. That's what I wanted to know. Thank you for the info.

I used to play on Hodstock, but FH might be where I go. I don't mind the soloing for the first 20 levels or so... I know it's not the same rate as BST on FFXI, but I can handle it as most my levels in FFXI are solo (I do a lot of /BST too).

I think what I miss the most is the Lore. Everything in EQOA (I've never had the luxury of playing EQ) is always so epic and the constant feeling of evil all around really helps the atmosphere of the game, IMO... it's much better than all the cute stuff we have in that other game, lol.

Thanks again man.

you can try out DH, the DH population is still kinda high, tho it has had the same effect as the other servers just not as badly. it has a decent amount of low and high lvls that still are very active jsut we have to get some of our 60s outta BW lol

Sounds good. I can try out a few servers before I commit. I just wanted to make sure SoE wasn't going to pull the rug out from under the game a few months after I came back. I appreciate the info.

Btw, it's been so long and my mind is so FFXI now because I've played it for so long, I'm trying to remember what BW is, lol. Blackwater, right? Isn't that where everyone coaches to to attack one of the dragons? Or is something new happening there?

The more I read about EQOA again, the more I miss it. ;;

Oh, and one more question I forgot to ask earlier: Can I use my old EQOA disc on a new PS2? My old PS2 doesn't read discs anymore. I have a new one though so it's not a prob. Just wondering if I can use it is all. I'm thyinking I may have a prob there... if I recall correctly, the EQOA disc has registration codes or something and I'm hoping it doesn't tie it to just one PS2.
