I am zeronix from flurry. I had been playing since before the CU. I continued playing after the CU until the total change with Jedi being a starting proffession. I am interested in getting back into play after not playing for so long. It would be greatly appriciated if someone could give me the basics to what i missed. Such as what are now the strong proffesions, what happend to the Jedi that were around before hand, and what the basics are for PVP and PVE. Thanks

did you play the nge at all?
#3 Jul 09 2006 at 8:32 PM Rating: Decent
nge being the new format of play? I played for a few days if i remember right. I used a few respec things but didnt play long after that. All i really want to know is how getting new skills work and how gaining xp works, do you need groups to grind, what proffesions are the tanks and what not.

Another question is, is it worth staying a jedi?

I also heard a rumor that 2 slots are available to everyone on each galaxie...not just the people that unlocked jedi before hand is this true?

skils you get as you lvl, with an expertise system coming in soon, 2 proffs each publish.

tanks...commandos can make good tanks, since heavy weapons are area affect, jedi make horrible tanks.

alot of missions give experience, theres the legacy wuests that get you to 40ish, then prolly kashyyyk id the best bet after that, then ToOW.
with gridning whenever you dont have quests to do.

2 character slots are available, and jedi is an iffy subject, on one hand, they dont get nearly as much armour going through the game as other proffs, but i suppose it would depend on your ability to paly it.
personaly im good at melee.

if your really unsure, you can grab the trial and do the noob station.

some personal advice, change your howkeys to the numpad, use the arrows to move, and play in mouse pointer mode if you do give it a try

thanks for the information its been a real help, im currently downloading the 10 day trial to see if its worth coming back. As for proffesion choice it seems like its not worth staying a jedi. Thanks for the information!!!

download is taking longer then i want so i have one more question, are there any melee proffesions any more? Such as unarmed, pikes, or swords. Maybe a little fencer in the mix? LMK thanks

none cept jedi, but other proffs can melee, some specials cant ne used with melee weapons, but i melee with my spy all the time

so there are no real melee proffesions besides jedi, but all proffesions can use melee weapons but most of the attacks cant be used with them...

As for jedi is there any advantage at all to them, are they well rounded, good at pvp, or do they just plain suck now?

i havnt really played it, im waiting for them to get there expertise trees, but its hard for them to get armour higher than 5800 i think, im noit sure if the new armoured clothes can get higher, nor do i know much about tehre abilities.

but you should have a 10 charge respec kit, so you can always check them out for yourself

had a blast playing the trial, going to pick up a game card tomorrow and get my old character back...

Hows the popularity of the game? Has it gone down, up, stayed the same?

well, most of the servers have dropped 1-2 "population" categorys.

usualy theres 3-6 mediums, and the rest light on prime times, when when i started it was 3-6 heavy, and rest medium

its difficult to say for sure if the game is still losing more players than its gaining, though it has to be said that the servers are still mostly empty by all accounts. in terms of populations though, the servers with the highest populations appear to be

USA - ahazi, bria
EURO - chimaera.

thats not to say that there arent players on the other servers, having said that, my own personal favourite is the Tarquinas server. even if it doesnt have a high population.

i think, being prepared to switch servers until you find a group of people you want to play with, would be a good idea.

They dont suck at all it just depends on who's playing them. Its way different than the the old game. Your chosen profession will no longer win for you, its not about uber profession. You have to practice long hours whatever prof to be competitive in PvP. Theres no combat macro or no uber template/uber gear like there was to win every fight. I've fought Jedi with my spy that went down like nothing and others are very tough- just depends on who's playing it and how well they time things.

No, we are not. We're in Orgrimmar. That, or the Undercity.

I'm personally in IF, but that was beside the point :p

My point was Theed was small compared to cities like Coronet and the tier three planet outposts!
