Hi everyone. I used to play eq for pc. Played for a number of years. I don't have a computer to run it anymore so I decided to try eqoa. What's the best and or most populated server to start on and Are there any servers with new people on them? Any advice for a newbie to eqoa would be greatly appreciated. Game will arrive Monday I can't wait...

Play a healer. That way everyone will want to group with you. As far as servers, I really don't know.

I'm not new but I am at the same time LOL but from all that I have read DH is the best server not sure yet I use to be on Castle lightwolf but that was when the game first came out so i'm not sure what has happened but I'm about to come back to the game and i'm going to DH first As for class Pick what you where comfort useing in EQPC the necro isn't as it is in that game but still will be ok be sure to try a differnt classes before making a full judgment on the game and you will most likely fall in love with this one if you liked the first pc one

Druids are cool, I used to play one. I did write up a guide, but since Kastiger seems to have lost his journal I can't find the links.

Clerics are also cool. They get higher armor cause they can wear plate.

The difference is really kind of small. They will both be healing, period. The difference is in class abilities. Clerics get more buffs, druids get wolf form and more DoTs. Some people say clerics are better healers, but it comes down to the player, as long as you have half a brain and put TPs into Charisma (not all of them thought) a druid will heal just fine.

Hello, and welcome to EQOA!

The best and most populated servers in my opinion as a day one player are Castle Lightwolf and Diren Hold, Diren being the best choice as it has the friendliest and most helpful player population.

The best classes to play would be pet casters, Wizards, and healers, as you will have the easiest time finding groups!

If you decide to start on Diren Hold, send a tell to Wise, and I will be more than happy to assist you with all I can!

Best of luck to you.

Clw is the most populated sever and it would be easyer if you made a eastern human because there are many people in your starting town.

For the best class for a new person would be a healer.

If you decide play on clw send a tell to apally and i will help you quest and coach run.

You can always go tank, warrior, sk, pally. CLW always needs tanks it seems, and since you have played the Pc version, you shouldnt have a lot of trouble tanking. If you want groups fast, go with healer/tank, dd's, especially melees, take a long time to get groups. If healing/tankinging isnt your thing, go bard/ench for power, groups love that.

Nice nice welcome to DH, glad to have you on the server, but my only concern is NOONE on here said you should go a shammy...lol i dont know why....they have just as good as a heal as the other two{may not be as high but still works out}
and they get Bear form and theyh get a buff called AvA at 51 plus they get Pets and tho there buffs arent for the AC they get stat buffs not hte best for tanks at low lvls but for the DDs its great but that changes at 51 when you get AVA it raises whoever you cast it ons HP and stuff by a **** load lol so every tank wants it ...im not saying the other two arent good just giving you another example of a healer since only two of the three where givien....the final pet of the shammy at 60 is a 54cat or the defence one...i forgot what it was lol...and a shammy can solo really good...so can a clr but your basicly stuck killing dead stuff...tho you could kill other stuff itll just take a while lol, and a Drd there not the best soloers but there KICK *** stand in tanks lol..tho they can solo if they want to.

but CGS on 17 as well and goodluck and have fun
