Did you quit SWG? if so why?Follow

#1 Jun 24 2006 at 2:23 PM Rating: Decent
why did you? i know most of you are going to say the nge but what about the nge? what did you like about it? what didnt you like about it? for me it was the shortage of professions, the over-the-shoulder fps-like view, the influx of *****-*** noobs, the boring and repetative quests, the drop in value of crafted goods, the influx of cheap **** onto the bazzar, the only thing i like about the nge is the fast action combat which makes the lightsaber duels more realistic opposed to the old turn-based style

i quit because of lag, and all my friends left.

most people after reading that were prolly gonna blame the NGE, but this was back in Sept

yeah without friends alot of fun is sucked out of the game, all you have now are *****-*** noob jedi who keep asking for free stuff and dont bother to work for it, now im really missing SWG

p.s: yo master for lag i think you should expand your ram but i didnt want to buy it so what i did when it lagged was type in /flushGraphicsResources fullReset that usually worked

The NGE itself (Cutting back on professions; linear, level-based improvement; etc...), SWG's general flaws (Numerous unresolved bugs, constant lag, and lack of new content), and upper-mangement's general attitude towards the game (suddenly springing new "improvements" on the community, hardly ever taking player input, constantly playing Russian Rolette with the Dev Team, and other things) led me to quit SWG. For me, it was more of the NGE being the final straw in a long line of things that were frustrating me with the game.

I quit because the combat system changed for a second time, not just the combat but the hole way SWG was going to be viewed by the Devs. SWG was the first MMO i ever picked up and loseing so meny profs, reduced crafting and player levels killed the feelings of freedom i felt in the first 2 years or playing.

Heh.. i still look at all my old screen shots like someone may look a famaly photo album.

one day i was a lvl 71 charter doing diffrent proffesions trying to master them all and the next day a lvl 71 jedi with no lightsaber no nothing. no idea what i'm doing and trying to kill something was a hell of a trick. i could have choose something else i guess but i kind of wanted it just to play with a little while. but i found the combact system was now totaly messed up i like to autotarget not have to run and keep the mouse on the target. it sucks having a npc your trying to kill start running away instead of trying to kill you and see who wins. the other reason i guess is the house full of stuff i had weapons armor and stuff was now more or less useless. i do miss it and perhaps thinking of trying it up again just to play star wars. wonder if my old account is any good or is it all gone cause it would suck trying to get what i had before back now.

Before the NGE, the game was great. Even the combat upgrade was good to play with. Since then, the game has gone totally downhill (for me anyway). Anyone joining the game now will not see how much of a difference SOE have made because they had not seen it before. I particularly liked the way they made you feel immersed in the SWG universe. The vast combination of professions, the fun community and the whole 'sandbox' feel of it. You could have any combination of character you could think of. Now though i am really dissapointed and actually missing the old game. Im even wishing for it to change back, but am constantly reminded that that will never happen. What i dont understand is why they did it. How could SOE justify their actions in changing such a brilliant game??

I quit SWG because SOE made me to.
I quit SWG because of the bugs.
I quit SWG because of the poors customer service.
I quit SWG because we were treated like babies in a kindergarden.
I quit SWG because of the laziness of thought.
I quit SWG because SOE cared more about money than us.
I quit SWG because of the whiny brats they directed their marketing to.
I quit SWG because of the NGE and the loss of professions.
I quit SWG because most of my friends left.
I quit SWG because I payed £10 for virtually rendered crap.
I quit SWG because SOE wanted us to quit.
I quit SWG because SWG quitted on me.

Simple. CU and NGE. That made most of my friends leave, and SWG was no longer fun. I am still waiting for a rollback. I'd start again in a heartbeat.

im sure most of you are bored of hearing why i quit SWG, and what i think of the game :D

feel sorry for the one who is subscribed for a year though, just shows you should always check out a games forums before making long term decisions like that. not to mention playing it for a few months too.

the CU was a mortal blow, but the NGE was the coup de grace.

pre-cu, most of my time was spent in Coronet Cantina
pre-nge, most of my time was spent crafting weapons and ship components.
post-nge, well.. all of my time was spent in WOW.

Feel really bad for that 1-year subscriber.

Wow...2 words...

That Sucks.

Do your homework next time my friend. If you had studied SWG more and read reviews on amazon and what now, you would see that SOE sucks more then your situation (which is a lot of suckage).

i quit because of nge and the reasons were the new job class system is a total joke. as much as the old system of having so many points to fill so many diffrent job boxs anoyed me it was a much better system. at least with that you could at least know u earned the right to be a master what ever, not in one day become a lvl 75 jedi and know nothing about it and not even have a lightsaber or nothing. i did it and i felt like a noob all over again. should have choose comando and then i would have been fine but i really wanted to try jedi. the other reason is the combact system got blank up. took away autotarget if u attack they run away or run around like a chinken with it's head cut off. but as of now i'm trying to give it a second chance and overlook this and enjoy the game.
