i'm fairly new to stg and i have a lv 16 marksmen on tat with a little in healing and scouting i'm trying to become a bounty hunter and am currently grinding for the 42000 need combat exp but i've been grinding for quit a few hours like some where around 8-10 and only have gotten 12500 is this what i should be getting,i have done 12 missions, also ran around attack monsters my level, and partying seems to only slow down the grind

id like to know if any one has any tips on how to do this faster and also if i need to get master marksmen before i can get novice bounty hunter thx in advanced

for novice bounty hunter u only need 4000 in scout and 0004 in marksman...i cant remember the names. combat xp is very slow to grind out...i think u get a tenth of ur normal xp...so if ur gettin 1000 rifles xp, u get 100 combat. grouping usually gets more xp, i dont know where all the higher levels go to group on your server, but try going there and getting into one of their groups, thats how i ground out lvls 20-80.

Go to the Dantooine Mining outpost and get in a group with level 80's if you can. You only need to get 1 hit in on a mob to get full xp for the kill. Plus you get a bonus to your xp for being in a group.

if you can find a group nice enuff to let you tag along and just throw c12 grenades then do that. be warned tho that grenades have a 30m radius area of attack. let the group members know whats up then toss your nade. after throwing one dont attack at all or heal just get incapped and let tyour group members kill the mobs. instead of getting 1/10 combat xp you get all the normal xp in the form of combat xp. about 2 to 3 lairs will get you your 42k xp needed. have fun and be safe.

well when ur only around 20, u get a total of under 2000 xp per kill(at least thats what i got), so you would get 200 combat xp a kill. if your group is good you should get tons of xp, as long as you dont sit there and watch your combat xp bar go up. i suggest working on another ranged profession and while u focus on getting the weapon xp, ur combat xp will eventually get to 42000. at lvl 80 when i fight yellows in a group i get about 6000xp per enemy...so the higher CL u become the easier it is to get higher amounts of xp. (hope that all made sense)

I've heard great things about BH/Pistols in terms of the amount of damage per second they can do. Don't discount the idea of becoming a healer, too. It can save your life, pick up some medic skills.

i was wondering if bh creature handler is a vaible combo and does chandling ex take away from pistol exp or like when you are trying to raise pistols and you heal your self the med exp is suntracted from the pistol exp or does it work like the relationship between scounting exp and pistol exp were their seperate

All types of experience are seperate from one another. To get xp in a skill, use that skill. If you want xp in a different skill, use that skill instead. If you want pistols and carbines xp you use a pistol for pistol xp and then switch to a carbine for carbine xp. However both will give you combat experience.

As a CH you get CH xp for killing something with your pet and for training your pet. If you also use a pistol to kill the same mob your pet killed then you would get both kinds of xp.

CH and BH is the combo I chose two years ago when the game first came out. Since then, both have been nerfed several times, but I'd still say it's a decent bet if you are a fan of solo hunts. I don't like large groups as half of the people are usually just sucking up XP, so I use my Grand Wrix and Dewback to tank while I keep back and shoot, it's like a group of 2-3 all the time which makes it nice, but it takes awhile of having a beetle or something like that as your pet before you can actually get something worth it.

do you guys know what diffuculty level of pet i can tame with only the novice ch box
#17 Jul 25 2005 at 3:05 AM Rating: Decent
No, unfortunatly I don't remember that long ago......I would give you this advice though. Don't get to caught up in what pet you can get early on, if I remember right a rock beetle was my first pet, he died quite a bit, but he helped get me CH points. With Novice only I don't know what you can tame....I have 3/1/3/1 I believe in the colums, can't guarantee that because I haven't looked in about 6 months, but I think that is what I have. I was able to tame a Grand Wrix with that. I think maybe a Cu Pa or something like that you should be able to tame soon, if not now, then get one box and get one of those first. Beware though, you might now this you might not, but if you attempt to tame an animal and fail it will aggro you so you must be able to kill it. When I tamed the grand wrix it took me 3 tries, I died on the first two.....I think....been awhile.

I would also suggest the following site for creature and taming information. I checked it tonight as I could not remember what creaturs could be used as mounts, very informational. Use allakhazam's skill list with the creature information on that website and you should be able to find out anything you want to know.
