Doomsayer! Peeps keep predicting the demis of EQoA, but here we are... working on 3 years. The post date was somewhere last year.

First of all this is the kind of post that I really hate to read. Having played this great game since Valentines Day 2003 and being a regular contributor to these boards you see and hear alot. I'm sure alot of you have read posts claiming that this game is dying and the end is near. I've read some but I usually ignore these posts. I hate hearing that kind of crap. Today I stumbled into some information that was pretty upsetting. In early July Sony plans on announcing the end of this game. They plan on putting more manpower on a sequel to CoN (why?) and EQ2. Membership has declined since the holidays and the first quarter was brutal. One of the most despicable things mentioned was the deliberate intention of making the game worse for the benefit of driving others to FF. Oh, more good news...if anything spawn times for big mobs will get even worse. They want to make sure the building is cleared before shut down time. The Volunteer program...smoke and mirrors. The date mentioned was September 1st. Now, I've seen some of these claims in other posts before and never thought much about it. I still don't know how I feel about this myself. All I know is that I've made a lot of great friends in this game and I'd like to do my part to try and save it if there is any way possible. I was never one of the guys who raced up to level 60 and had 3 alts in their 50s. Hell, I've never even seen a dragon. I'm just one of the regular guys who likes to sit on the couch visiting another world with some good people I've met in a game. Notice how I didn't say I liked sitting at the computer playing, Sony? I'm at a computer all day at work. Figure out how to get EQ2 for the PS2 or PS3 and maybe you'll sell me. I'd really like it if I wasn't 1 starred into submission for this post. I just feel that it was important to get this out into the open. I like this game too much to see it die such a **** poor death. If we cannot turn the tide, I'll still be here until the end. Hopefully I will have fought a dragon by then.

Yes this guy reminds me of the guy who came here saying he worked inside of SOE as an accountant, he predicted the EQoA was going to be phased out last year too. Didn't happen did it?!? Hehe.

Sing, ive never seen a dragon either, cant stand playing games on comp either, and only have one toon above 37 atm, thats monk lol.

if they close down game, they will lose even more money noone is gonna move to FF on those other games if they are here now, been thru so much alleady on EQOA, i kno im not the only one sayin im not leavin.

ive seen a dragon like 100 times...not that you care.

what I don't get..is if they're going to cut it, why bump up the prices for the last 2-3 months? thats ****ing stupid, I don't mind the price bump too much. I don't think they'll cut it!!! I HAVE SOME PROOF TOO. In the new price changes, they said something along the lines of a 12 month sign up, so I think if you signed up under that, every 12 months you would pay a certain amount, so if they cut it before those 12 months...well I still don't get why they're bumping up prices if they plan to cut EQ, kinda a rip off grrr, I don't think it'll get cut I hope it doesn't, I don't know where i'll go :'(

P.S. You guys know about Maple Story? check it out www.mapleglobal.com (should be the link, if not just google Maple Story) its for the computer but its a fun game, and its free, 2d side scroller but an rpg and the graphics are friendly hehe, maybe if EQ gets cut we can all migrate over there. My main is on Bera if anyone plans on playing.
