A-wings are hard to hit, no matter your level, if your still in your noob ship and have 1xxx in your corsec pilots skill would recomend you upgrade to the dune lizard, its a nice ship, good mass not quite as fast and as manoverable as the shykyamacallit you in now, but the mass more than makes up for it, (doing freelance i used the duelizard till i was teir 3 and it was much harder in to progress in them days)

i dont remember this corsec mission, but assume its one of the low ones if you still in your starter ship.

All i can reccomend (and i still use this tactic now fighting small fast fighers eg Rebel a-wings everything above interceptor for the imps and the Freelance syckyamacallit.) Take out its engines use [] to cycle through the targets components once you have targeted it.

You will find its a little easier to do than trying to outright destroy it, plus once its engines are disabled you can take your sweet time destroying it no more of that chasing your tail trying to hit it :-P
