Best were form for a Bard?Follow

#1 Jun 01 2005 at 11:28 PM Rating: Decent
I have a lvl 43 Bard and was thinking of going wereform.

What do you guys think would be the best?

Im kinda thinking either the Gator or Wolf forms for the wereform stats and the lvl 40 spell.

Any suggestions?

My Bard has Str/Sta/Agi/Dex all the same when buffed = almost 300, Int=150 and Cha 125

Almost any were works since you can adjust your gear to improve the stats the form doesnt. But I dont recomend rat, it's ability is one you already have. Looking at the ability gator is balanced among 3 stats and gives some AC, while wolf should pretty much max your str/sta so you can focus on other stats.

Personally I find wolf to be the best overall form for melees, especially since most tend to ignore sta (though I like your approachof balancing str sta dex and agi). With form, my berserker rge currently only needs to buy his stat maxes to have well over 500+ str sta dex and agi (525 str, 525 sta, 545 dex and 545 agi, all capped out), with his reckless vigor mca already purchased. If you're willing to put the time in, you can max 4 stats and still have a relatively high cha with the right gear and using your 40 abil (approximately +120 str and sta that stacks with form and has a decent duration) to compensate for any tps you might be short, and though constantly casting a buff every 5 minutes can be a mana drain for most classes, you're playing a bard, heheh... and a 5 min duration should be like an amazingly long time compared to what you're used to.

But overall, I think the reason I liked wolf was just the amazing 40 abil it gives melees. Bear, for example, has the same stat increases, but the 40 buff only targets strength. Lion for a melee you get just an agi/SoW buff, and most melee classes can already SoW... rat, you protect your int, but lose 50 str when really aside from a ranger, melees don't need anything over base int unless they want to get 100 to unlock their PoT cms.

That is one of the good things about gator, it's buff does sta/agi for 120. So overall the Gator gives a balance between offense and defense.

Thanks! Kinda confirms what I was thinking.

And...lol...the balanced Str,Sta,Agi,Dex...was advice I got from this forum...which I think was pretty darn good advice.

So still in a quandry...Gator or Wolf....enee..meene..minee.moe..

Question on Int...I used 2 CMs to increase my Int at a sacrafice to my Agi...but thought it was worth cause like +50 to Int for like -15 Agi.

But now If I understand correctly...Dex is the Proc for Bards and Int is useless...am I correct?

Also my understanding on heals is that only 5% cha modifier which means if I add 200 to cha I will only get 10 more heal! doesn't seem worth it to me!

When procing, Dex will increase the chances of getting a proc to go off when it is built into the weapon. If the proc is a buff say sk veil of death, enchanter chaotic flux, and so on. Then it is modified by Int.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, you have a cm to sacrifice agi for int. Did you by chance do the werehunter CM, that is the only cm I have ever heard of doing that. If your character has the werehunter mark they will never be able to become a were, they have immunity.

And yes if the proc is from a weapon it is dex based if it is from a buff it is int based.

Nope. But It may have been Sta not Agi.

I think the CM was named Sacrafice or something like that.

But havent logged any of the were quests or the were-hunter.

It was probably the strategist line, sac 5 sta on a melee for 15 int for first one, then 10 sta on the second for 35 int. A great trade off for rangers or if used to unlock your PoT cms, but if you already have your 100 base to unlock pow regen cms, you might want to think about selling them back. 15 sta isn't huge, and 15 cms isn't a lot but a few extra hp can save your life sometimes and when you get to later stages of cming 15 cms can take an eternity to earn.

Also, even though I have a wolf melee, I'm not sure if info on wolf 50 quest might lean you one way or the other. I haven't gotten around to gathering the troops together to finish it yet and from what I hear it's not a one or two person quest completion (camp full of reds with a completion timer requisite of 30 mins or less?)
