Ive only been playing for a couple of months now so forgive me or point me in the right direction if im wrong but does anyone else think the economy is way to expensive, you do misisons get 1800/2000 credits and save them up, but by the time you have enough to by anything your armours damaged and you spend it on new armour insted. Any thoughts or ideas about where im maybee going wrong would help.

Just stick with it I suppose. I had the same problems when I first started but once your character becomes stronger you can get bigger missions that pay a lot more. I made plenty of money joining squill hunts on Tatooine. Get about 8 - 10 people all with two 10k mountain squill missions and it's surprising how quickly the money adds up. With it being such a big group you'll also get plenty of weapons XP with very little damage done to yourself. Also, if you have lightspeed I'd just jump in your ship and go attack some lower level enemies. I make loads from the credit chips and looted parts. Take the parts to the chasis dealer and you get 1k to 7k for each part depending on the level of the component. When I first started all my money went on planet hopping. Now with lightspeed it costs nothing to zoom from planet to planet. Which is nice. ;o)

Money Is hard to make when you first start, i did lots of missions that involve humanoids and loot them for credit and items put items on bazzar, or the other option is Collecting hide, bone or meat and selling this on the bazzar, once you get started and you character becomes stronger you will get harder missions that reward better credits and more valuable loot.

Good Luck 8-)

I have been hunting the humanoid thugs on the beach west of the Correlia Capitol...

While they are fairly easy kills, watch for them being social. They drop about 85-136creds/kill... Adds up fast and I built up my carbine skill fast.

I have yet to see them drop anything other than credits though... Am I doing it wrong by double clicking instead of opening the wheel and selecting loot all?

if hunting npc's always loot all. They can (occasionally) drop valuable stuff and it also speeds up re-spawn. If you hunt creatures get at least novice scout and harvest everything you kill, you can easily double your mission payout by selling hide, etc on bazaar as stated above. When I first started I struggled to make money to survive on (300k for comp armor ?, it'll take me months of playing to afford that!) Now I feel like a pauper if my credit balance is under 500k.

500,000 CREDITS???????????????
You have to be kidding!

I was feeling rich when I had 3,400!!!

I was drooling on a CDEF Carbine someone modified with a stock... the seller wanted 10,500 creds... I was contemplating how I could afford it...

With only one character / server I guess I could join a guild and have a guildie hold my creds for the new character.
But with you being able to drop any skill the only reason to restart is to change your race... /shrug
I really haven't seen a big difference in the races except for the Wookies who can't speak Common....

i would have to agree with space combat as a good source of money. one day i played for almost 7 hours straight and not only did i get TONS of space combat xp, but i also got around 25k total credits, not to mention the loot i sold, which was around 30k worth.

i agree with baidakdarkcloud tht space is the place to get the money......(hope im not offending)......but playing straight for 7hrz in space and only managing 25k plus 30k is quite pathetic..........i m a rebel pilot 4444 when i go on a money making spree i manage to make 250-350k in 2hrz this includes selling the loot to the chassis dealer...............

Chassis Dealer?????

What the hell?

Where is the junk dealer to get rid of things like looted stuff in the ground version of the game?

A friend has 73 Million credits.
When you are completely self-dependent, you don't spend much money. Combine that with playing since Beta, and you're bling blingin'!

I have found that making money is not as hard as I thought it would be. I did some huminoid killing for a while and that was nice but boring. I have sice trained artisen and have been doing those missions. Its about 500 cr a mission. Ill grab two make a grand in about 15-30 minutes. One day of just running missions for a few hours give me enough money to do further training for things I need and the bonus of getting exp while getting money from the missions.

Replying to all the previous posts,

max group size is 8 people

a good spawn for humanoids is beheind the Dearic staroprt on Talus. They are not agressive or social so you can rest to heal up if you need to and another one spawns as soon as you loot the body. They were very low level before the CU but they might have been balanced, I don't know.

double clicking is loot all

the chassis dealer is in almost every starport, just look around. Sometimes they are in the front in the main room with the travel terminals, sometimes they are in the back beheind a desk just before you go out to the shuttle. They are the NPC that you buy a chassis from after you buy blueprints from a player shipwright. They will buy your space loot, 1000cr per level of the component, so a level 5 will get you 5000cr. Or you could sell them to a shipwright to reverse engineer. But be sure to check the quality of the component before you sell it to the chassis dealer. The better ones you can sell on the Bazzar for more money. It will just take longer.

The junk dealer will pay you nothing for the stuff you loot. Like 10 cr for a weapon or something like that. Unless they changed that too with the CU. If you're going to delete it to make space maybe sell to the junk dealer but you will have to find one that buys the stuff you want to sell. They all buy different types of stuff.
