Bard Guide(everyone else is doing it)Follow

Since everyone is making a guide about a certian class i feel as i should add my 2 cents in on bards on as i have been commented on having a good bard for raids,groups and duels


Races-Eastern Human-race of my bard. not bad for the off mod and def mod. Also your starting in the most populated city

Western Human-same as eastern only that u start in queynos i reccomend if you are making a human bard to start in freeport as groups will come much easier then in queynos

Elf-i wouldnt reccomend these as they dont get the cms as the humans do.but they can get the mc immortal which gives pure heart a very good buff.


Build-Ok this is where the arguements come on as many people built their bards differently. My build is as follows:

Str
Dex
Sta
Agil
Cha(see below)

This ensure that i would do sufficient dmg and it wasnt so high that i would steal aggro

Charisma(optional)-only useful for the master class minstrel which 150 charisma is needed. the mods on the buffs isnt that drastic(5% i believe)plus if u buy the charm(lvl 51 Entrancing Song 120 Cms)it increases the chance it wont be resisted

Sta/Agil-the main stats for the bard. without these they would be paper as a rge. if u can get a good mix of sta agil and str you will be very well off. what i am doing atm is wearing str and dex armor and sta/agil jewewlry.(currently putting tps into charisma need 29 more for req for minstrel)when i am fully buffed i am maxed str,agil and dex with over 300 for stamina. i have the ability to take some hits and deal out some good dmg(350 a swing on kappa workers)

Wereform

Wolf-good if you dont have alot of str and sta. if you are planning on this mc you can try to put some tps into agil and dex so this will balance this out

Lion-HIGHY RECCOMENDED-well this is the form of my bard and it gives sta/agil the main stats of a bard. i love mine as i can wear equipment for sta since this maxes out my agil

Gator-another good choice for soloing. tho it is very hard to get,it is still good

Rat-the common stereotype is this is for only casters. i completely disagree as this gives dex and agil,which is a main stat and a helpful stat for grp damage

Bear-well im not sure about this one never talked to a bear bard but it seems pretty good

How to do Epic

well this is the big moment for some people is how to do epic. most people should be able to solo or get help for getting the amulet as u just need to kill great worms. to find a large area of them run NW from zk and there is a spawn point of 3 or 4.

for the soloing part in the spirit world, this is what i did

get avatar
get the 51 drd resist buff if possible(done with avatar easily alone 2)
sha.clr,drd buffs

when u talk to the caretaker,run down the hill as fast as possible. then wait 5 minuites for the aviak to spawn and time it right so you dont pull any spirits. kill him then wait until the spirits despawn. then take the drop from the mob u just killed and give to the caretaker.DO NOT LEAVE AFTER AS U MUST GO TO THE SPIRIT OF THE DUDE. i didnt and could not get back in the graveyard so i had to restart

then for the next part get a high lvl healer,tank and good dd and u can do all the way to para.


Parathior

a giant ice elemental which comes to attack when u visit oransus in snowblind. you do get your epic weapon(see below)before u fight this beast. this is easily tanked by one person who has CR gear on. watch out for AoE as it does 1250 dmg to me.

After u are done MAKE SURE U FIND ALL YOUR QUESTGIVERS AS IT SAYS or u wont get speciallized spell.

Epic Weapons

Sabre-gives stats and looks cool i wouldnt reccomend as it doesnt proc

Paths

Combat- not reccomended but still a good path. increases dmg alot and until 49 u recieve the sabres

Mana-Best path. gives a large PoT spell. once u have 2 of these(20 and 30,30 and 40,40 and 49)u can chain them for good mana

Rapiers-reccomended as it procs over 130 dmg to kappa workers

Master Class


Minstrel

good mc for mana and also gets a good damage spell(1400 AoE range 125%cha mod)

Gypsy

another good mc for the people with low money. gives a steal which at red to 60 gives about 500 a mob. also good mods

Mercenary(Human Only)

i dont see any use for this. the debuff isnt worth the 75 cms

Immortal(Elf Only)

after looking at this further,i see the Pure heart buff to be pretty useful. if not impressed with the 2 bard mcs, i suggest for them to go this.

Agreed and Disagreed.

You forgot to add why Str/Dex is important.

IMO Go elf only if you're going Immortal.

Add tips to grouping.
Add tips to Soloing.

You should talk more about paths.

Good information there for the new players! Good post!

Western Humans CAN get zk coach, no matter how good you are; even the 'holy, righteous' Paladin's can get it, for an extreme example. I have zk on my Wizard and Bard, who're both Western Human.

If you're new to the game and don't know how to get around much, I'd also strongly suggest making your Bard Eastern Human, since you'll run into a lot more people in your starting city, and that means more people to ask for help on some quests you can't solo; plus a lot more groups there to xp with at the nasehir camp to the SW of the city, only a minute run.

Humans overall (doesn't matter which) can buy the good racial cm's Leadership, extra off and def mod. Leadership buffs sta/wis for the whole group, scales with level. At 45 mine buffs 30 to sta/wis. Just an extra buff for Bard's to have.

By the way, totally ignore BonNoobDH when he talks about Minstrel, he's just a selfish noob. ;)

I consider him/her a noob / choob if he doesn't think Minstrel mc is actually useful in the highend raiding situations.

Not sure if you’re agreeing or disagreeing here, but I have a Western bard and had no issue getting the ZK coach. They are all white face to me. My wife also has a Monk, which is human/western and had no issues.
