In the new patch there is to be a shell surveys device for mullsuck or something like that does anyone know where to go to get the quest to learn how to make them. And does anyone know what creature can be milked and can you milk bio engineered creature.
From reading what is on the test forum the shellfish thing is a schematic for a net that needs to be quested by Artisans. Anyone with Engineering 3 can then make the net to sell or use to try and catch shellfish. This was probably the most interesting aspect of the whole publish to me as its a whole new piece of gameplay, I liked the fishing idea as it was but now its even better! Aslo, normal fish are supposed to give out more resources than they did before.
I do not know where to go or who to talk to about this quest though (the test center folks didn't elaborate which I think is a credit to them as I am looking forward to finding out on my own). Still have 10 hours to go at work before I can get home and search for the quest giver though darnit!

I am a novice bio-engineer, medic, scout, pistoleer, I have been able to milk most herbivors on corilla. good luck. between 15-30 units per creature. I have found that I need to be within 1-2m to milk with masked scent on or else it won't work. If you don't have that skill get it. click and hold on the creature and it will be with the examine or attack tabs while mask scent is on. the response is then something like "you relax creature and attempt to milk it" then it responds twice with "still milking" then finally "you have successfully milked the creature" I was able to get almost 1k wild milk doing this on corilla in about an hour at 15-35 units per creature. I was able to get 50+ units for milking bigger herbivores.

Milking is like harvesting other resources (except without the killing, thankfully), the larger the creature, the bigger the harvest.
And you can't milk pets, BE'd or no. I haven't tried milking non-tamed BE pets, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say you can't.

Well I guess I'll be the one to put in the spoiler, if you still don't want to know where to find the shell survey device quest read no furhter!
It starts in Anchorhead on Tatooine, speak to the guy who is under the bridge in the middle of town. He wants you to kill a bounty hunter.
The bounty hunter conned red to my Novice Rifelman who has conceal shot. He went down under a barrage of conceal shot fairly easy though. 4k reward for the first part of the quest then an easy delivery mission to finish off. Only a 2 part quest and then you get the schematic.
